So just entered Texas yesterday and got this code. It came on right after a fillup so I assumed it was a fuel cap issue. Stopped took it off and put it on, cleared the code and went on my way.

long story short it came back and I found it appears to be an O2 sensor issue, not fuel cap related.

I may have noticed that my fuel mileage dropped as well.
I am at my current location for a week before heading home.

Is it worth trying to get fixed while I’m here? Or just wait till I’m at home where I can likely do it myself.

The trip home is ~1300 miles.

Where was the fillup? Lots of rain lately, might have got some wet gas?
Or might be due for a new sensor.

I’ve filled up twice since. Don’t think it was gas related

OME Nitrocharger/2612 (front), Bilstein 5100s (rear). Vanguard roll bar modified (by me) to fit over Patriot Stealth retractable tonneau. Aftermarket halo headlights with HID, various LED bulb replacements. 17" Fuel Blitz wheels with some 33" Nitto terra grapplers. Hoodscoop, nfab nerfbars, Bushwacker flares. No-name aftermarket grille, led fender extensions. Black Horse bambi-basher. Various offroad lights.
I'd replace it if its not to much of a hassle. Emissions isn't my thing, but my understanding is out-of-whack o2 sensors can lead to the ecu fiddling with your fuel/air mix which could lead to cat fouling/damage.

Thats a bank 2 sensor 2 code. That would be post catalytic sensor and wouldn't affect air fuel ratios.

    You can wait.

My dad melted a cat in his dakota. if it starts to feel way down on power, its not unheard of.
