I’ve searched previous posts on this code but none really address my question……

Just replaced my 2007 5.7L with a longblock. Found out the engine builder didn’t install the intake/exhaust cam actuator chain correctly in bank #2, it was one link off on the timing mark on the intake cam actuator. With that said, I had to remove both main timing chains in order to correctly install the cam actuator chain in bank #2. I also ensured that the cam actuator chain in bank #1 was installed correctly on the timing marks and it was.
After putting everything back together the engine was running great, a little chain slap at first at start up until the oil pressure built up then everything settled in. Ran the engine for around 500 miles then changed the oil.
After reading up on the possible causes for a P0014 code (bank #1 exhaust actuator over-advance) I changed out the OCV solenoid, cam and crank position sensors. After I cleared the code it keeps returning periodically, crazy thing is that the engine runs GREAT, idles great, great power acceleration, averaging around 16-19mpg. Weird thing is when I’m on the hiway, 65-75mph, the code never comes up (check engine light), it only comes on when I’m driving in town!!
Bad ECM/PCM maybe, I’m trying to avoid bringing it into a dealership in order for them to run a comprehensive diagnostic scan…..

    TIA….!!
