I recently installed the P&P Engineering Fuel Skid. There are no instructions or pictures to help. So I thought I would post the pics from my install.

    Front exterior corner
The rear hole was already in the frame. I had to drill the hole closest to the engine.

    Front Interior

    Middle interior Strap

    Rear interior strap
I will add a picture tomorrow

    Rear exterior strap

Hopefully, this saves someone else the hasle of having install, uninstall and move the straps around.

Overall I am really happy with skid and like the design over the other options.

WOW thanks this really helps me! I have a full set P&P skid that I need to paint and install. I knew the tank and going to be a pain because of all the brackets and no instructions.

Dear McCrapper, I ordered one on March 10th, 2021, stated delivery on their website was 6-10 weeks, actually 6 PLUS 10 weeks later I got it. He has horrible communications skills, as in nearly ZERO. There are no instructions, no hardware, the support straps on an Aluminum skid plate are unpainted mild steel.
I offered to help him with documenting my install and writing some instructions he could use, no reply. SO, as far as that goes he is an asshole who will not help you figure out how to install his "engineered" product on your vehicle. I cannot in good faith recommend this company to anyone.

Si I got the P&P skid plate installed, after 5 hours. I had to drill out several of the holes/slots as they did not line up enough to get a bolt through them. I had to drill out the slots in one of the brackets for the same reason. The one redeeming factor is that I did not have to drill any new holes in my frame, 4 of the brackets connected to existing factory nut with 8mm x1.25 thread bolts. When I got to the last bracket to install, the outside rear corner, the plate was level and firmly in place, but the bracket was about 1.5" too long. I had to mark it for new holes and using a cutting wheel to cut off the excess that was hanging down below the skid plate. 20210720_073136.jpg 20210720_073200.jpg

That bracket doesn’t look sturdy. Is it just 1 bolt that goes through the top? Cuz that will just end up pivoting when you hit something.

As you can see in my photos and the photos in a previous post, ALL of the brackets have a single bolt attachment to the vehicle. The only "2 bolt" attachments are at the skid plate itself. My 1794 had no skid plate, so even this is an "improvement". I have a Can Am UTV so I don't do serious 4 wheeling with this vehicle. Overall, I have to reiterate that I wish I had not purchased this unit from P&P Engineering. In fact he replied to my review on Facebook with lies and bullshit, typical of a poor business person and shitty person in general.

The bottom has two bolts to react rotation (arguably), but the real kicker is the top one is a fucking slot so it's not doing shit.

Such engineering, many design, all the strengths. Guess having a plate to distribute load across the gas tank is better than nothing, and they used such engineerings to decide some flat bar was as good as a proper structural load path. I give a 2/10 for effort.

Good news is the guys with the hole saw and bucket will not be draining your tank. Unfortunately for many, I think those days might be back in the near future.
