I noticed that my overflow plug is leaking. If I use my hex head driver to remove it, how much tranny fluid will leak out? I just want to replace the gasket but want to be prepared. Finally, what is the purpose of the overflow plug? American cars do not have them??

I assume user 05 in your name means 2005 ?
You should only lose the amount that is above the "Specified Fluid Level" !

Yes your right Bubba, I have a 2005 Tundra. Thanks for the diagram and information. The 2005 Tundra is a sealed transmission and it bugs me that I can't monitor the fluid level. It worries me, to be honest. Take care.
