We were driving on I5 for about an hour with zero issues when we pulled off at a store. Getting back on the road we immediately notice cold air only from the vents and it overheated forcing me to tow it home. Could it be the water pump? Fearing blown head gaskets. Any others possibilities? 2008 limited 5.7L

Nobody knows for sure until it’s diagnosed. Could be anything related to the coolant system.

Over heating with a complete loss of heat from heater core generally points to a significant loss of coolant or failed water pump.

Must of been a rapid release of my coolant in that store’s parking lot. It ran fine until I got back in and drove maybe a mile before having to pull over. There was zero water in my top bank and totally drenched under hood.

Probably have a crack in the top of the radiator or hose
