Hello all. I had a seizure while driving. Luckily it was in the early evening and I did not hurt anyone or damage anybody's property. I am walking around, L-5 vertebrae broken good, some bulged discs, no nerves cut in my spine thank goodness.

Tundras really hold value. Insurance company gave me a check bigger than the MSRP sticker from when I bought the truck. I had 3 or 4 more payments left and 45k miles on it.

So looking to buy another Tundra. Of course I don't want to spend too much more than what I received.

I know the new 2022 models will be expensive. But 2021 models seem cheap right now. I wonder if they are not selling that well due to what some consider an outdated design & the 5.7 fuel economy compared to other brands.

I loved the truck I had. Only complaint was fuel range (26 gal. tank). Fuel economy is not a huge thing for me, I live 2.5 miles from my job. My dead 2015 w/45k miles shows that.

Are they still producing the 2021 models? Is the clock ticking to get another one?

    Thank you.

Wow!! From the looks of your truck, you're lucky you're not living up to your screen name!!! I'm glad you're doing as well as you are! I haven't kept up since I bought mine last year, other than what is posted here. Good luck with your search!

Thank you Tilly. Yes, part of the reason I want to get another one. The Tundra protected me nicely. I want what I had, an SR5, Crew Max, 4x4. I like the SR5 Upgrade package, and the TRD off road package. If I can't find the TRD off road package, maybe the TRD sport package. I can put down some cash in the high $30's range.
    Thank you.

Oh, and I want the color white. It does not fit in my garage and I live in the desert where summers are very hot.

I wish you good luck in your endeavor, truck lots are pretty empty at the moment, but with cash in hand and some searching, anything is possible.

Most of us carry sod in the BED of the truck.

Thank you guys. Ha! Sod. There was so much in the truck, the wife could not get my Bully Dog & Garmin out of the compartment under the middle/front seat. The truck was sliding upside down, on grass, at a good pace. All that grass went right through that little hole in the windshield right in front of my face. No wonder my hair was filled with dirt when I woke up. Now I feel special. For a while I felt like Evander Holyfield used my head as a speed bag.

I don't know where you live but there are still some Tundras in the pipeline in Colorado if you find the right lot. I went to Groove Toyota for both of my vehicles and they don't sell over MSRP. Neither does Stapp Interstate Toyota.

Thank you Booney. I don't think you can buy a car out of state in CA. IIRC, there are weird laws about not being able to register it until you have 7500 miles on it. I am not sure on this, I will recheck tomorrow. I hope I am wrong, that would save some money.
    Thank you again.

Curious minds want to know; how does this affect your license, insurance, and your wife’s sanity?
I knew a motor cycle mechanic that had this happen while at work, and it kinda screwed him down the line, having that label upon him for work and DMV.

Not sure about his particular case, I know when my buddies wife had a seizure, she was not allowed to drive until she was seizure free for 6 months.

I was thinking the same thing. Yeah, the Tundra protected you, but if there's a next time it probably won't be so nice to whoever you hit... I'm hoping you know for certain you wont be having another seizure while driving.

I 2nd the Tesla idea for OP. For the safety of yourself and others. Also, did you check to see if they'll let you drive again? I heard that in situations like this with seizures and driving accidents, they basically suspend your license until you get cleared by a doctor or for a determined time limit.

My two friends that have seizures are not allowed to drive. For everyone's safety please check with a neurologist before buying another truck.
