Beautiful piece of land you've got there...

That's a crap-ton of rain even for the West side of the state. Does WW normally get bursts like that?

Wasn't me...I passed another one when I was down in Vancouver a few weeks ago. My buddy though he was seeing a ghost. I've only seen two or three in the Seattle area so they must be super rare down there.

    Nice pic....

Our weather yesterday was hit and miss, but not bad. This morning it is beautiful.

This is my favorite weather...below freezing and sunny.

Hope you all are having a good weekend. We are kidless this weekend, so have been doing a lot of relaxing. Just enjoying the quiet of the house. Last week was exhausting with work and the election, so I was in need of some "offline" time. We've been treating ourselves to good food and catching up on TV shows.

Kinda. We can get rain all day and it's usually less than an inch. In the blues it can get pretty nasty though. So no not normal, but it does happen from time to time. Pisses the farmers off. To much at one time, get washouts as rain can't be absorbed fast enough.

Took the Harley for one last spin to get the stabilizer through it to put away for winter. :(

I cannot wait to see that color truck in real life. Really don't think our cameras do a good job of getting the real color tones. I've seen one on RAV4 and it hasn't looked like anything posted here.

Yes they do. More green when overcast, more gray in direct sun, really very unique. And almost impossible to capture in a picture.

More normal November weather in Bend. Snow off and on throughout the weekend. 18° when I woke up this morning and clear sky at sunrise. The clouds rolled in and spitting snow throughout mid-day. I had really hoped to wash the truck today, but never really made it above freezing in the driveway. Some day I should own an indoor wash bay.

I don’t know about anybody else...but I’m :fingerscrossed: for a whole bunch of snow this year.

Got my ‘95 K2 Eldorado 169 all waxed up and my Fusion pass inbound in the mail.

I’ve been snowboarding since 1987... back before most mountains would even let us ride. We were “dangerous and out of control.”
I grew up 30 minutes from the lifts at Schweitzer in ID.

I’m hoping for a ton of snow this year. A white Christmas would be greatly appreciated to close out this otherwise hellacious year.

I couldn't agree with you guys more. Hoping for another winter like 2 years ago, we had 2-3 ft around for most of the winter.

But first, my father in-law is switching his plow over to another truck. It's frustrating depending on someone else for equipment, but I don't have a choice until I buy a plow truck or tractor with a blower.
500' of gravel driveway and lots of parking around the house.

Edit: After checking, 900' of driveway. I was way off!

I just saw there is a storm coming in on Friday with coastal snow possible. Portland will most likely get wind and a bunch of rain.

Whenever we get snow here just sit back and watch the craziness unfold.

I live at at about 1600' in the foothills NE of Vancouver, WA and I got a light dusting of snow last night. It was gone about a hour later when it changed to rain. I thought I was going to have some snow when I got up this morning before 5 AM but it was just raining.

I'll be at Long Beach this weekend...that'll be fun!

1000' for me - up near View. It looked like a little was spitting last night, but it was mostly just rain all night.

I apologize. I just read it again and it says wind in coastal and snow in cascades. I have to stop doing things before I take some pre-workout.

However there was a warning about surf conditions due to this system.

Bring on the snow! Makes for better hunting. I have a second deer tag for a whitetail doe. It opened yesterday but I won't be able to go out til Friday. Rare opportunity to take two deer in one season in Washington.

Good luck! I went out Pheasant hunting last weekend. Found a couple hens and a Moose but that was about it. Still a good day to run the dogs and get some fresh air.

I've been out about 4 times. Got one rooster. Shot a second but it was so thick of weeds and brush no one could find it. Felt bad not being able to find it. Dogs are giving me bad looks for not shooting the hens. Seeing lots of them.

Hey WA guys looking for a place to do a mini vacation around New Years. Somewhere that gets lots of snow. Any suggestions?

Bonus points if I can rent some snowmobiles!!

Leavenworth and Winthrop are always good for snow (and good beer). They both have sled rental outfits. Chelan is cool in the winter too but more slow paced than the other too.
I'm not aware of any rentals around Chelan though.

Leavenworth will probably be crazy busy though if that's an issue.
Winthrop would be my pick for maximum snow, if it's not too far for you guys.

    Cheers

    Thank you.
I’ll have to google them. Heading down to SD was an option but we wouldn’t get many days there unless we take more time off.

We are considering Bend and Sun River area also.

Leavenworth gets a vote. It's Idaho...but just over the border... Coeur d'Alene is a sweet spot. Check out Xmas lights on the lake. Usually still up after new years

North Idaho. Standpoint or Priest Lake. Priest is a Snowmobile Mecca. Trails everywhere, ride directly to your cabin/motel. And as a bonus Idaho isn’t afraid of COVID so traveling, dining etc will be easier.

Only problem is rooms in Leavenworth will not be cheap that time of year if there are any left. But, I agree it’s an awesome little town with tons to do.

Thanks guys. Will start searching these tomorrow. Not sure if we will be able to get anything since it’s around the holidays but worth a look. We were supposed to do a multiple family vacation but that’s most likely not going to happen now.

I’m a huge fan of Winthrop, but that’s a haul from OR this time of year. Leavenworth is amazing, but expensive and touristy. We do day trips there for the food, beer and Christmas scene every winter...but just day trip it.

Man, I cannot think of anything else in WA. Sounds like heading E in OR is a good idea.
