Dude, now you are talking! Back in my day it was an Icee slushy.

We like to take day trips to Whidbey. When we take the kids up there, an ice cream in the ferry line is a must. Gotta start those fun memories as early as possible!

Sold our travel trailer today! Cashed in during these inflated times, got more than we paid for it in 2018.

Now on the hunt for the next one.

That’s bananas. Seems like the RV lots we pass are pretty full with inventory. Guess they are not making deals right now. Congrats on the sale!

    What is next?

Yeah it's crazy, one dealer we talked to said 500 of his units were spoken for before they hit the lot!
Dealers definitely aren't giving the deep discounts they were a couple years ago, but we're going to work hard to find a deal.

We learned a lot with our first trailer, I know I want shorter. Probably single axle, 20-22' still with bunks.
I want to be able to do more off-grid NF camping, our 30' double axle was just too big for that style. Plus looking for a little better towing mpg's.

    My build- https://www.tundras.com/threads/rabbidllamas-old-man-build.80802/
I would liked to hear on what you find/see on your search on the quality of new units. I browse several rv groups and i read more about suspect build quality as they are try to build so quickly to meet demand/shortage of workers and so on. Of course it is easier to complain on many of theses forums. Good luck on the search!

We picked up our trailer May 1st after placing a deposit Feb 15th. When we picked ours up the salesman told us they only had a total 50 units on the lot or on order that didn’t have a deposit and they are one of the largest dealers in Oregon.

Seems that most lost I pass now have only large (30’+) bumper pull or large fifth wheels models on the lot. The smaller units are hard to find as lots of first timers have jumped in since it’s a pretty pandemic safe activity.

Main issue now is how much competition there is for reservations for a site. We have always done state parks but might try out a KOA or other private parks next year. Any recommendations for OR or WA?

I bought mine from their Beaverton location. I had a good experience with the purchase and the parts department. I have not yet experienced their service department so can’t comment on that.

I'll definitely keep ya posted on this. We did go check out a couple trailers last week, no glaring issues there.
My '18 Keystone Springdale had more QC issues than those two I walked through.

From what I've seen, all brands are somewhat slapped together. The exception probably being Grand Design and Airstream.

Waldport KOA is pretty cool, right on the OR coast.

KOA at Lyons Ferry Washington. Middle of no where and 5-10 miles from Palouse falls. Has a boat launch into the Snake river. On the other side of the river is a nice park to visit down river from Palouse falls at the mouth of the Palouse. Palouse falls is worth a day trip for sure.

It's not KOA, but Chief Timothy just outside of Clarkston is pretty nice. Need reservations. It's a small island on the Snake river. 8 miles from Clarkston so if you need anything it's not far.

Pretty happy with quality with only a few minor items. The back door is great. With the bunk flipped up both of my kids bikes fit plus some other items (chairs, step stool, folding table).

Question for those of you who own a Pro. Is the stock lift on a Pro only on the front or does the back have different springs or shackles that lift the rear too?

Researching lift options and trying to understand this a bit more.

We're here at WP KOA right now. And yes, it's nice.

There were at least 7 staff members, and all very helpful and cheerful.

Got my propane tank filled also. Quick and easy.

I have only stayed at 2 KOA’s. Both were awesome. First was in Astoria. They have a bunch of stuff to do with the kids, free pancake breakfast, day drinking while walking around… well that’s one of the things I did lol.

The second is down in Coos Bay. Again bunch of stuff to do with the kids and if your into riding on the dunes you can ride right out of the camp ground down the access road and straight onto the dunes. Now it’s nowhere near as close as the condos in Winchester Bay. But it’s not that far. Also they rent quads right next door(same owner).

My understanding the Pro is only leveled. The back suspension is same as the other models other than the Fox shocks

It’s my understanding that there’s a slight difference in the pro rear springs and of course the reservoir shocks. I have not had a non pro, so could be wrong. Also I have read that they have different part #’s, which would support the idea there’s a difference

Interesting. So you think the rear leafs are different to match the shocks? That would make sense

Wondering if the spring difference is on rate and not height or both rate and height. I did look up parts on a Toyota dealer page and there are three different leaf springs listed for a Pro.

Just signed us up for a private long term care policy. I have a strange mix of happy and irritating emotions right now.

I can think of many truck mods or house fixes where this money could be better used…

Care to share what company you got the Ins through? I'm still waiting to hear if my company's long term Ins is approved for opting out.

Even if I overlook the fact that's its stealing from us without a single vote, the WA Cares Fund wouldn't be such a bad thing if it had a higher payout. $36,500 maximum lifetime benefit is all you can collect.

My MIL just called and said she just signed my wife, me, and my wife’s brother and his wife up for policies so that we couldn’t avoid this BS. When I asked her how much she said “none of your business”

feeling pretty happy about that, but not about the fact she spent money on spending like this

The company is called Trustmark. They had a plan that offers even less coverage that the State, so that was the cheapest option. Their prices for higher coverage were not competitive against the other quotes I got.

That’s an amazing MIL right there.

I wish I could get my kids onto a plan, but apparently humans under 18yrs old don’t qualify.

I’m still curious if this payroll tax will apply to everyone, even if you don’t qualify for the plan. So my son working 12hrs a week will have to pay the tax but won’t make the threshold to qualify. From what I have read, the “pay vs qualify” logic is not defined.

Yeah - I'm digging into that as well. My kids are 18 and 20, but so far I've not run across any policies that will even offer coverage for people that young.

Don’t forget about the in-state residence requirement too. And you’ve got to hope the plan stays solvent.

Actually, these kinds of plans never go away. So if the plan isn’t funded adequately then changes will be made to get said adequate funds.
