The Baxter auto parts by the old Portland Meadows has an automotive machine shop in the back/to the side. They'd do it I bet

    This is the address:
    9444 N Whitaker Rd, Portland, OR 97217,

High speed chase into the Cul-de-Sac ended with a new hood ornament for the tundra and a fleeing felon tackled on my front porch.

Heres to Portland and its idiots!

Criminal mischief and hit and run charges getting filed with the DA in the am. You see.... im what they call a "VERY willing victim" haha.

Fuck people, he deserves every they can throw at him. Lucky he didnt kill my kid.

So i realized after everyone asked how bad truck was that my hood was popped because i had been welding on it a few moments prior. My rig has zero damage. Like so little im gonna have to convince a body shop that i really want it quoted just so that I have that should it be needed to help the DA on my charges.

Anybody else around the Vancouver area happen to be stargazing at exactly 9:00 PM (like 13 mins ago) and see the light show? There was 40-50 pieces of something that was burning up in the sky but I could not tell what the elevation was. Maybe a plane, maybe an asteroid? Does somebody have more information than I do? It looked incredible and lit up a good area in the sky.

Any PDX area members used this self-service shop to wrench on their trucks?

    https://gearheadgarage.us/

I can’t fit in my garage and have any room to actually work on anything so thinking this might be a great solution, especially with access to a lift.

Yeah, was just taking a break. Work is going well. Had an actual in-person meeting with a customer that came into town. Was kinda crazy having a large group of people all in one area.

Discovered I hate wearing masks for 8 hrs. Cannot wait to get my vaccine!

Yes they did. We went in last Friday for their first day. Was amazing. They have defined a brand like Starbucks or Apple. It’s not like a normal shop that the latest owner just repainted the walls and changed the pictures. They “own” the entire space.

Thankfully it is in a part of Capital Hill that hasn’t been torn to shat with all the stuff that’s going on. That and there is parking close by. Boom.

We will be taking an Uber there next month when they start doing full tastings and chocolate pairings.

    Breaks are good
A normal meeting a year later, bet that was weird.
Are they letting people go mask less if they have the vaccine? We usually wear neck gaiters at work so they can be easily pulled up or down depending on the situation.

We got a lot of clients that won’t allow gaiters or home-made masks - some even requiring double-layer setups. And nothing with the “vent” in them

I'm glad my employer isn't as strict, we still have a mask policy though.
Working at times in hot, loud and dirty environments is tough enough as it is. Throw in fogged up safety glasses from a mask and it's more of safety hazard than anything.

Yeah... we follow CDC, but work for some companies that want to take it the steps further. Gotta follow clients rules when you’re in their house.
I agree on the fogged safety glasses. We have found a few brands that did pretty well. The other issue is trying to breathe after climbing 10 flights of stairs with the mask sucking into your mouth every time you inhale.

This was back in early March, so no one was fully vaccinated yet. It was a group of nine from the customer and another 9-10 from work. There were a few times the groups got too tight when everyone was eating lunch and I started to get uncomfortable. But they all tested before flying home and no one was sick, so that was good. My family and I still isolated for ten days from everyone else just to be sure.

I drive a desk all day but need to wear glasses. The fogging is a major issue. Right now we are not scheduled to go back to the office full time until July or august. Hopefully by then we are all vaccinated and can skip the masks

You guys remember when I was playing tag with the Nissan dealership a few months ago? That deal didn’t happen. Then I paid off the truck loan a few weeks ago and we decided a second car wasn’t needed until the fall when my son went back to school full time.

Whelp, no plan survives first contact. Yesterday we learned school will be in person four days a week starting in mid-April. So this happened tonight

Thanks @peanut this saved me a bunch, I picked up a bearing from Napa for about $90, and Baxter's machine shop replaced the bearing for under $100, way better than the $400+ the dealer charged

Yep. I test drove one thinking I’d like to get one that was 3-5 years old. But one thing led to another...

Ha, I know how that goes.
Not a bad move though, those are pretty affordable for what you're getting. Brand new, Yota quality and 40 mpg.
