I like the sequential turn signals on the OPT7, but PUTCO Blade seems to have fewer bad reviews. Has anybody out there with the OPT7 experienced LED failures over time or during/after winter driving? Thanks for your input.

Thanks. Jim’s link didn’t work and I’m not seeing that product on their website or catalog.
    Maybe it’s been discontinued (?).

I have had the OPT7 for a couple of years with no issues. Very bright and the backup light is awesome. No led failures so far, its a quality light imo

Well crud! Looks like that is the case and this vendor no longer carries them. I'm not seeing anything tailgate related. Hopefully someone will point you in the right direction soon.

Very happy with my OPT7, but only had it a few months and live in the South. Can’t speak to winter issues.

I've got this one arriving in a few days. Supposedly it doesn't block the spare tire access.

I had the Putco and a few others on my list too. Was scrolling and found this one. Have had good luck with Mictuning light bar, wiring harness, and other assorted led's in the past

My Putco has been doing fine for a few years. I like it over most others because of the Amber Signals like my 2010 SR5 has.Resized_20201210_075223.jpg

Installed my OPT7 last summer and had no issues with it, went thru New England winter and still no issues. One of the best light purchase ever, especially the backup light. Recommended to a few of my Tundra buddies and they loved it too.

You are gonna love it :) If you got the harness it will plug right in. It does block the spare tire hole but you can fix that with a round file. I just elongated the hole a little and the wrench fits right underneath for lowering the spare. Another tip is don't use the clips they provide with it or at least check your clearance on the bottom of the tailgate when you install. I used the clips first and the bottom of the tailgate was going to crush it so I removed the clips and stuck it right to the bed with the provided 3m tape works great that way.

I just installed the putco. Coupled with a 5pin trailer t harness I made it all plug and play. I live in New England so it will take a beating.

I've had the Putco Red Blade for nearly 2 years and it still has zero issues of any kind. I've never heard that they had water resistance problems.

Just installed the Mictuning bar with a trail harness adapter. No warning signs for a '14 DC, and the sequential turning signals are pretty slick in my opinion. Hardest part was removing the double-sided tape so that I could put on some magnetic tape instead.

Never had experience with any of the tail light bars before.
I wanted to go the light bar route for my Tundra but at the same time I don't want to cover the hole for my spare tire access.
Magnets are a great idea, however, I still want a more permanent install.
I'm not trying to hijack the thread but I may go with this route again:

    https://www.amazon.com/Trailer-Sequ...s=sequential+light+bar&qid=1633722216&sr=8-14

I had these lights on my previous truck and it held up very well in snow, rain, and finally the desert heat for 5 years+. Seal was very good and no LEDs failed.
I bought one for each side so I had a dedicated left and right sequential turn signals and brakes lights.
I did not wire it to act as running lights though, just signals and brakes.
It will require you to drill and do a little bit of tapping into wires, but it's very basic.

    Here's a link:
    https://youtu.be/2n5WRS8p08Y

I don't have my F250 now, but my buddy who bought it from me said the lights are still working and no problems.

The mictuning ones come in two pieces so you won't block the spare tire access (that was a concern for me too)

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R22N7LK?ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details

The led bar ones with a 4 prong connector that can plug directly into here:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007EA6WQU?ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details

and you can just get a butt connector for the loose reverse wire and put it into the 5th hole of the harness connector. no mess, and easily convertible back to stock. if you want something more secure, you could just use the 3m tape that comes preinstalled on the back of the mictuning led bars

I’ve got the OPT7 and have no issues with it. Right at 2 years since it was installed. My only complaint is that it has a slight delay from the tail lights and turn signals. Not sure why but I have heard others mention the same. It’s like it misses the first flash of the turn signal and then catches the rest.

I also had the Putco switch blade on my 2017 for 4 years in Michigan snow and salt. Never had an issue with it.
