I put OME medium duty coils with Bilistein 5100 set on the lowest height. From the ground to the fender it measures 43 inches in the front. From the hub to the fender 27 1/2. Does anyone know how many inches is this? I’m thinking about 5.

Did you not measure before you installed it?

I'm no expert but that seems like a lot of lift for a 5100..

The OME coils are longer they provide 2 1/2 lift due to the preload. Even if the Bilistein are at the lowest setting. Was told they don’t pair well together but you can make it work. My cv axles are flexed but I plan to buy extended travel one for lifted trucks.

too much I believe. OME springs are already lifted and run high. Their 2-.25 lift springs generally run about 2.75 lift. Add in the lowest clip for 5100s, which I think is about .75 inch lift and you are too high. I imagine it is very stiff with the limited suspension travel you have left, and you may have axle and suspension angles that will be wearing parts faster.

Generally speaking, you can get about 3-3.5 lift max reliably with most coilovers and adjustable UCAs. Anything more than that- you should be checking your suspension angles and check for binding in suspension travel. You probably have no suspension droop left at your height. Post up your alignment specs for the gurus to review.

For example, 4inch lifts and above are bracket style lifts, because of the issues I mentioned, which is why you dont find lifted coilovers higher than about 3 inches unless you are moving to a long travel setup and ditching most of the stock stuff.

I had a 2 inch spacer on prior that gave me 3 inches. This is the 3 inch photo, I didn’t measure it before the last mod.

Believe or not the ride feels the same as before the mod. The rep stated the coils are for heavier bumpers without and winch. I’m considering taking them putting the old coils back on with a couple shims. Was initially going for 3.5 to 4, thanks for your advice guys.

It definitely looks taller with the 5100s & coils than it did with the 3" spacer. Are those the 614 coils? 4.7 or 5.7? I'm looking at doing the 612 coils with my 5.7.

Yikes. Most 4wd’s sit around 36” +-.5” to the fender with a stock tire. I believe I was at around 36” drivers side, 36.25” with a stock suspension and tires. 6112’s on the lowest setting and one shim on the drivers side put me at 38/38.25”.

If you were running 35’s (or the 34.5” metric equivalent that most run) you are only gaining an inch to inch and half from sidewall height. That means you are getting 5.5” of lift from a coilover. Bad news for your stock components, especially CV’s. Considering the truck only has about 6” of downtravel in the front, you are going to be hopping over everything.

If you are going to leave those coils in there, I would at bare minimum do a diff drop until you can get those new CV’s. And I would probably leave the diff drop in place even with the new CV’s.

Idk I got a 2” lift and my hub to fender is around 24” I think you have a 5-6” lift

Get the Eibach spring, it will be about 3 inch and ride MUCH better then the OME. I did it on my 17 with the TRD yellows and it was really nice.

I’m putting the old coils back on with the 5100 and two 1/2 inch shims on each side. I’ll keep the OME coils on the shelf until I purchase the OME shocks and leaf springs. Olds coils have about 30,000 miles. As always thanks for your advice.

OME Nitrocharger/2612 (front), Bilstein 5100s (rear). Vanguard roll bar modified (by me) to fit over Patriot Stealth retractable tonneau. Aftermarket halo headlights with HID, various LED bulb replacements. 17" Fuel Blitz wheels with some 33" Nitto terra grapplers. Hoodscoop, nfab nerfbars, Bushwacker flares. No-name aftermarket grille, led fender extensions. Black Horse bambi-basher. Various offroad lights.
OME nitrochargers and the 2612 coils ride/look awesome. Tried using other coils with 5100s and was too much of a pain to get the look and the ride just right. OMEs are designed to work together, and if you aren't going to load your front end up with weight, 2612s are a good choice. Looks like you are going for a higher stance though.

Only 3.5,was told OME and 5100 on the lowest setting would give me 3 1/2 inches. I’m about 5 and some change, surprisingly enough the ride is really good. Will not be getting any more Mudders for now, just all terrain.
