    Oh, the drama.
I'm going to do something unprecedented in these kinds of threads: I'm going to answer the OP's questions posed in the thread title directly.
    Shocking, I know.

Is it old news? Yes. This issue, this exact subject and this particular YT'er have come up MANY times before.
    Is it BS?
The subject? No. Throttle "lag" or however it is defined, IS a thing for some owners. That issue is NOT part of the recall. Also, there really is a class action pending.
The presentation? Absolutely yes, given the source. I believe the general consensus is that he has no credibility. Just out for clicks.

And now, a bonus answer to a question NOT asked.
Are we getting tired of seeing the same old crap endlessly regurgitated?
    Yes. Yes we are.

Why must people keep stirring the pot? It looks as though another one that doesn't even own a Tundra (anymore) but has to be involved in all the speculation & BS floating around. Screenshot_20250116_152312_Samsung Internet.jpg

Thanks, i was not up to date about this one. I thought it was a new vid and means something. Appreciate the explanation.

And for all the antis, yes, i had a lemon 2024 Tundra which is after 9.5 months ordeal Toyota bought back. You can read about it in my previous posts starting with #1.
Then i told myself and on this forum ;"Toyota....never again!!!!." I went on a journey to check all others, ford, Shevi, Ram, GMS. All high trims.
All of them are garbage compare to the 3rd gen tundra.

While doing this i was not reading nor hearing anything about those issues, but when i decided to buy another tundra Platinum i started researching again and came across this info which was new to me and i wanted to ask your opinion, but as usual, smart asses have to show their ugly site. If you do not like it, just skip it and go to a post which makes your skirt to blow up or shove your smart tongue up to your smart ass.

    Thanks for your attention.

Have a turbo charger? If you selected yes, then you have turbo lag. Some are worse than others, but all have it.

This youtuber is worthless. I will admit to watching him, and a few others for a few weeks trying to figure out the car market a while back. I realized they have no real news, are all clickbait and now blocked their channels from my YT feed.

Yes, this site, just like every other site on the internet, has its share of wise guys. But what I have read on this site matches your experience (to some degree). While the vast majority of '22-'24 Tundras have no had major issues, there have been enough to hurt Toyota's previously stellar reputation for reliability. However, that drop in reliability still leaves the Tundra above all others with regards to reliability. If you bought a '25, it is very likely that Toyota has ironed out the vast majority of the previous issues. I'm sorry you had that lemon experience with your '24.

Thankfully my 5.7L V8 Tundra doesn't give a shit about these recalls! LOL

Agree on all but: The issue referenced is NOT turbo lag. It is a dead spot or dead pedal in the electronic throttle. Two completely different things.

thanks for the clarification, certainly two different issues. Combining them must make for an wonderful drive, and thrilling passing attempts.

    No doubt.
Thankfully, mine doesn't suffer from the throttle delay/lag other when dead cold first thing in the morning.
Actual turbo lag is extremely minimal from my experience. Two tiny turbos and a very responsive transmission ensure that boost ramps up right quick when the need arises.

What exactly did Toyota change with the 25 production that ironed out the problems the 22-24s have been having?

Doesn't sound any different than any other Toyota I've ever driven... None of them have ever done anything when you step on the gas. :notsure:

    Lots of stuff!
My thought was more about the transmission programming. It seemed to me like the dead pedal or hesitation was related to the shifting logic. When I rolled up to a stop and then attempted to proceed the truck would seemed to wait and attempt to figure out what gear to be in. Maybe a protection system to the transmission? I found that the overall response seemed better if I used the manual shift mode.

    ^^THIS^^
If you do a rolling "stop", it doesn't downshift to first, especially when cold, and will feel sluggish off the line, because you're still in second or third.
This is my only gripe I have with transmission programming.
To be clear, I haven't experienced the dead pedal others have.

I don't keep up with it, but historically, Toyota has tried to improve on things every year, not just with model changes. The manufacturing philosophy is called something like Kaizan, and it means always looking for ways to improve.
