Hey folks, I recently noticed that my oil pressure seems low. The gauge just has 1/4 scale hash marks & mine is sitting at the 1 quarter ( bottom) hash mark. I’d think it should at least be at the 1/2 way .just changed the oil / filter . There’s no leak, no smell of burning or hot oil anywhere. My truck is a. ‘05 limited with 153k . Runs as smooth as glass.

Should be 1/4 mark while idling and typically the 1/2 way mark when cruising.

Normal. Oil pressure will fluctuate with engine RPM after getting to operating temperature.

Normal. Send it. Mine is lower than that... it's the way they roll.
According to the service manual the acceptable range goes down to 4psi idling... someone correct me if I'm wrong.

    • Low oil pressure gauge (00-02 Tundra / 01-04 Sequoia): There's a TSB out to address the situation with the oil pressure gauge reading low in these years. Check to see if your VIN applies by reading the TSB here but before you replace the sensor, read this note too.

Low oil pressure readings (according to the dash board) are normal on the first generation Tundras. The rest of the gauges aren't great either. They really suck. The dash cluster on the first generation Tundra are a cartoon depiction of what is actually going on.

The gear selection and overdrive lights go out too. You have to trust in the UZ engine... it won't let you down.
