Was leaking a bit of oil in the driveway for a few weeks and was due for an oil change, wasnt a ton of leakage so i wasnt overly concerned at first as i was planning on doing the oil change soon and would have them take a look to see where the leak was coming from.

On saturday my Oil Pressure low Light turned on but the gauge was still saying it was normal so i parked the truck for precaution and didnt drive it until today when i brought it for the oil change and had them locate the leak.

Ended up being some seal near the filter they said and it was a $10 replacement. When i got back in i noticed the oil pressure light was still on, i didnt mention it to them beforehand as i thought the oil change would fix the light thinking the oil level was probably just a bit low.

Is this something that will cycle off once i drive it some or it should i have it looked at again for the light specifically?

Because the oil can light is on but pressure reads normal, the sender may be bad or they possibly unplugged it.

Both are single wire as I recall. The idiot light is a tiny thing while the pressure sender to the gauge is a bit smaller than a golf ball.

Check the wires by the oil filter area. Hopefully nothing serious.

The light was on before bringing it to the shop so i don't think it's something they unplugged but i'll crawl under there and take a look still.

I've had the same issue also, one day worked perfectly, then gradually started showing low pressure. Ironically pressure would be higher at idle, lower at travel speed over the course of a week it was getting worse. Sending unit was the culprit. Quite corroded on mine; touched it with a wrench and it started dripping oil. Replaced and all is well again.
