Oil pressure gauge

I’ve notice that my oil pressure gauge tends to rise up quickly even when I’m at 1500rpm it will sit between middle and H. It will go back to a little below half but tends to rise up quickly when I accelerate. Anyone know if this is normal?

 

My 4.6 bounces of the pressure regulator when cold and to your point settles when warm but generally floats north of the center line if above 1500 RPM...

I'd call it normal.

 

It’s normal to see if fluctuate with the RPM. The cluster uses the oil pressure sender and Rpm value to move the gauge. If you don’t have an Rpm signal the gauge will not move.

I found this out with my benchtop cluster. As soon as I sent an Rpm signal the oil pressure gauge started working

Normal. Or, at least mine does the same thing. Oil pressure is a good thing as long as it’s above zero and below pegged.

 

Interesting tidbit. I wonder why they did that. I didn't notice in your video.
