Alright, this is the second time I'm replacing the alternator due to this oil leak, anyone have any idea where this might be coming from? Replacing alternators is miserable on these trucks.

Can use dye to determine where the leak is from.

Hard to tell without cleaning everything up and then seeing where it comes from. Or if you have a dye test done. What’s to say it’s not power steering? It could be as simple as a clogged PCV valve causing blow by.

Last time I replaced the alternator I didnt have time to really diagnose it, I'll clean it up and see if I can tell where it's coming from. I hope it isnt the cam tower leak.

Might try following that tube in the upper foreground higher...looks like you have a big fat drop of oil on it, and it's on the way down.

Hopefully, the tube is not contacting the alternator. Hard to tell from the pic...probably not touching unless it's been "deformed". Vibration would eventually cause the alternator to chew a hole in the tube.

Went put and looked it this morning, that is actually the bottom of a bracket that looks like an oil drop.

Use Brake cleaner to clean off that gunk, thoroughly . Do that, then start looking for new oil gunk build up.
