Toyota recommends everything from 5W-30 up to 20W-50 in the 3UR-FE, so I am using 10W-30 right here in often Hot and rarely extremely Cold Georgia. The motor runs smooth and it is quieter than it was with lighter weight oil, your results may vary.

OP you are GOOD TO GO. Drive it and enjoy the sweet near-sewing-machine sound of that big ole V8.

    Oil thread bingo:

    Someone.....

    - pulls an overseas market owners manual
    - talks about bearing "tolerances" (clearance)
    - talks about OEM oil having more moly
    - "Toyota dealers use Mobil 1"
    - states engineers know more than us
    - states engineers didn't make the oil weight decision, the EPA did
    - has run 0w20 for 200k miles with no issues
    - is currently running 10w40 euro oil
    - slams the new 3.4
    - "my engine runs quieter on 5w30"
    - slams the third gen for things unrelated to the engine
    - touts Costco oil

Fwiw: I am currently putting 0w30 in my third gen because it seems to be easier to find that it used to be. I ran 5w30 in my 2nd Gen during the summer.
