Changed oil and filter first time after dealer free changes. 2018 tundra already bought Toyota filters (caught a sale) 5 filters. Problem is pulled out filter housing (also cast metal one to replace),and found a taller filter then I bought.I was going to change out short tube, but I had Fram tall one,so I changed out to cast metal housing and put in taller filter. My question is the taller filter a better choice or not. Also I bought the Fomoto drain valve stuff valve does not fit my oil pan. Can’t figure that out??

You bought wrong Fumoto valve. They make different ones. Change short tube that comes with metal filter cap with the long one out of old cap. The metal caps have a tube for cars which have smaller filters.

Better to end oil filter confusion with these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007OW6LSC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Buy your oil filters using this part number.

That looks like a case of 5, so around $5 a piece.

Yeah, 5 filters would last me almost 2 1/2 years.

Just read who's selling before committing. These are from a Toyota dealer. A dealer is unlikely to be selling knockoffs; they get the real deal as cheap as possible, and selling bogus parts would put his Toyota franchise at risk.
