Can I scream? Reading the owners manual learning about the new wheels. Noticeably absent was any information on changing the oil or filter. I had to look it up on line. Scream!

My Tacoma, you popped the hood and the filter was right there in your face. No need to fuss under the engine, slip right under with no jack needed and pull the drain plug. Used to take all of 20 minutes.

Had no idea the Tundras were using a canister system, that’s on the bottom, under a skid plate, that requires a special wrench. What a pain. Ugh!

Welcome from PA! Wait til you see the plastic housing for the oil filter and then the cherry will be if you break a fin off that housing. It is a real treat.

I must be the minority. While it isn’t as easy as some vehicles I’ve owned. It isn’t difficult. I’ve got the proper tools like the filter wrench and a specific filter drain tool that works better than the plastic one that comes with the filters. ( I upgraded to the aluminum canister) It does kind of suck I had to buy a few extra tools but now that I have them it’s no big deal. I have the skid plate off in one minute and reinstall in about two minutes. Although it would be much easier with a standard filter.

Agreed. I don't even drain the filter housing. Spin it off like a standard spin on. Wipe er down, pop new filter in and spin it on.
