Hey fellas, I felt like this thread should already exist, I haven’t seen it even after searching.

I feel like this thread would be perfect for us supercharged guys to discuss upgrades, trouble shooting, issues, common problems, mileage, maintenance, how’s your tranny holding up lol etc.

I just supercharged my rcsb a couple weeks ago, did the install with some help, change the supercharger oil and coupler on the used unit before installing. The only mod I done after is the throttle body coolant bypass.

So if you’re sc’d feel free to check in.

And for the first question to start of this thread, what boost gauge are you running, let me see your set up, I’m currently looking for one. And to build on that, I also want to monitor engine and tranny temps

Supercharged. Checking in! I'm currently using a Bullydog tuner but am getting a dyno and new HPtune next month. My BD tuner will display engine and tranny temp. Just not impressed with my current tune, performance feels lacking. Still learning about superchargers. Want to understand what you mean by boost gauge. I'm not sure if my Bullydog shows this to be honest. Could you elaborate on this?

awesome man, can wait to see some dyno numbers, I’m on the trd flash so very conservative so drives great like stock just with more power lol

boost gauge is just a meter to measure boost psi, tells you how much boost your supercharger is making.

What’s everyone’s numbers they’re putting down? Been hearing a lot of people getting real tunes instead of the plug and play tunes

Haven’t dyno’d mine but from what I seen, 420 is a good ball park number. Stock tundras put down about 300.

The trd flash I feel like it’s the best tune if you’re not going to further mod the truck beyond the supercharger and exhaust. Like no headers and no pulley. But it’s when you add those things that it gets tricky and people start looking for a real tuner, which up until a few years ago there were none. Some people swear buy bully dog, some dont. I have a friend tuned on hp tuners, he gained about 50hp, trucks putting down 475hp to the wheels but his drivability went to shit for whatever reason. My nephew took his pulley’d tundra to dap to get tuned, put down 515hp before his tranny started slipping. His tranny went out a year after that.

    OVtune is looking promising.....

plenty of options out there indeed.

Mine is pushing 550hp, at least it was when I bought it. Dyno confirmed (so I was told). That's what this says anyway:
    00b0b_74UpGer8MIo_600x450.jpg
I'm very curious to actually see this confirmed in a few weeks. Can't wait to see what a new tune does. Don't get me wrong, the truck feels like it creates this much hp. 0-60 in 4.5 sec and can spin out at 80mph. But, always looking for more! :p

Just sticking my head in. The things that I'd be most interested in at this point would also be an analog boost gauge. I know that this is wishful thinking, but I'd like to find a way to monitor A/F ratios without having to use a stand alone device, but I don't think this exists. I'm going to have to give in and find someone to weld me in a bung for a wideband sensor. Then if I do that, why not have an EGT sensor too. Where. Does. It. End? ;)

It’s the sensor that came with the gauge so I assume it’s AEM. I had it placed on bank 2 (passenger side) before the cats. It came with instructions stating how the sensor needed to be orientated.

Not handy. I've gotten super dark oil and chocolate milk stuff depending on time of year. I'm due to change oil in the next few weeks I'll snap one if I remember.

Hey fellas, so my sc’d set up is getting close to a month old, everything is gravy except that I started getting something that sounds like belt squeal when the load on the engine changes, as in when it shifts or I let go of the accelerator. Squeals for a quick second and then fades away. It doesn’t do it all the time just every so often. And other than the noise the truck is running fine.

it used to do it often before I put the supercharger on but I blamed it on the belt because it was visibly worn and old. So I was surprised that the same noise came back after a few weeks with the new belt.

My suspicions are that it’s the belt tensioner pulley, I knew I should have put a fresh one in there when I did the install but I was being cheap and lazy. Have any of you had the same squeal to confirm my suspicion?

I haven't. But I have only 75k on my truck and I think I replaced my tensioner and idler at 59k. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
