Just picked up a 24 1794, Crew max, iForce Max. Love it so far after trading in my 18 Platinum (never had a single issue with it, just routine maintenance!)

Only two issues so far, drivers side wind noise over 55mph - sounds like baby birds, guessing it'll need a new door seal when I bring it in. Other issue is more unusual, and I'm sure Toyota will fix it, but...

The mounts for the support rod on the driver's side seems to be mounted too low. The right side is perfect, it allows for the support rod to sit nicely when fully folded. On the driver's side, the mount is a couple of inches lower, so the rod can't get in there, even with the slider all the way up. Curious if I'm being an idiot, if this is a known issue with the tonneau, or if this is unique to me. In the photos shown, the close ups of each side are with the mounts at maximum height.

This isn't the first tonneau I've owned, and it is the OEM Toyota tonneau that was on the vehicle when I bought it. Curious for any thoughts, and I'll certainly follow up after showing the dealer in a couple weeks.

It does seem uneven. I have the same one, I'll check whether mine are like that. BTW, I really can't believe that rod is plastic.

Ya, thanks, I'm curious what another one looks like.

In the meantime, I managed to remove the sliding bracket on the mount by taking the tightening screw out, lowered the prop fully, and was about to mount the sliding bracket directly on top of it. It is a super tight fit and definitely not what is intended. Here is a photo before I undid it.

...and not just that they're plastic, they don't feel like particularly solid plastic.

Okay…so mine are in a completely different position. I’m guessing that bracket is installed by the dealer, as part of the overall installation, and it’s up to their own judgment where they should be placed.

Wow, yup, that's what I suspected. I'm not sure those brackets can be relocated, both because of the holes it would leave behind, but also because the fasteners look like small rivets.

Thanks for taking this photo, much appreciated.

Wonder if you can adjust where the rods are mounted. I haven't looked very close at that part. But since my brackets are mounted so much higher, my rods must be closer.

This looks like a Bak Ind. rebranded for Toyota cover. They should replace the cover or discount the price of it considering. quality control -NOT any more, long gone. We have seen more than one or two issues with tonneau covers put together very poorly over the last couple of years. Should not have to fix it yourself and should not have to pay the dealer to fix it. Cheers, Laverne.

Ya, the quality isn't as good as my last one from what I can tell. The gaps for water to get in are laughable.

I took it to the dealer, they acknowledged the problem with no questions asked. They are replacing the tonneau cover for me, but it is currently backordered, so will have to wait. I'm told it will take about a month to get in.
