How do you bypass, circumvent or add the controls: lights/locks/dimness from the oem head unit to the new unit?

Lots of variables to your question. Year of truck, new head unit model, etc.
my 17 needed a maestro module to keep factory controls.

2016 Tundra sr5 with stock everything. I was thinking of a Kenwood. I still like and have quite a few cd's. So in general need a maestro module correct? The controls are on the new head unit? If so what menu are they? The original OEM still in the truck, any input of music skips while driving and due to age of unit I thought of replacing it. Thank you for the response.

I called crutchfield, told them what I wanted and they hooked me up. They were easy to deal with.

Sonic electronics is also another good resource. They will have everything you’re looking for. That’s where I got my new hu and all the integrations goodies as well.
