Are the lead OEM battery terminals the best ones for resisting corrosion? I just replaced my battery and I have a cheap metal terminal from Autozone currently because the local dealers don't have terminals in stock.

No. They all will corrode over time. The best thing to do is use this stuff sparingly after cleaning the terminals.

I have used the Castle brand. I am hearing that the metal terminals will corrode a lot faster than lead. I have learned that once a terminal corrodes heavily, replace it because you will never eliminate all of it. I cleaned it and replaced the battery last weekend. Within 5 days it was corroded enough that the truck wouldn't start. I put a new terminal on it from Autozone and no corrosion as of yet.

Any water cell aka lead acid battery will cause corrosion. A sealed AGM battery will not.
I have 3 years on my odyssey battery in my Tacoma and there is 0 corrosion. The lead acid battery in my tundra has some corrosion but not enough for me to worry about.

I use CRC battery terminal protector, available pretty much any auto parts store

I use the same CRC stuff and also added some of the felt washer things that go over the post before putting on the terminals. Granted my truck is newer, I had slight corrosion starting to form. I cleaned it off, did those two things, and haven't had any corrosion return. Every so often I give it a mist of the CRC to maintain protection.
