Soooooo got a 2020 (duh) truck and we tow a TT. We have extended tow mirrors (OEM) that distort car images badly, only on the passenger side. As in vehicles are much further than they appear. This is not good for blind spots, passing and such. There is a long thin bottom blind spot mirror, which is fine. Yet, it is small and causes 2nd guessing.

Went to Toyota and there is no replacement .. yet. Truck to new. The parts guy mentioned,"Yes, this could be a towing Hazzard sir." So wondering if anyone has experienced this and if there is an after-market lens replacement solution?

do a search, "tow mirrors" and you will get many threads discussing tow mirrors. There are several aftermarket units available.

I have the same issues with my passenger side mirror. I learned to live with it but is does suck that 400 dollar OEM have a huge blind spot

Thanks for the heads up. A shared annoyance I wish we both could have avoided. It is absurd. I might have to stick a fisheye on or I can buy a whole new mirror set up. Getting ready for towing soon, oh well.

I have had all kinds of tow related mirrors for all kinds of trailers. Best were the OEM ones on a Dodge Ram I had back in 03. Lately I have found that using 2" blind spot mirrors in the LOWER not HIGHER corners serve me well. And yes, they do cover those passing warning lights built into the mirror. I also only use glass mirrors for no distortion.

    A bunch
Are these the first set of tow mirrors you've ever used? Sounds like you're not used to the flat top mirror. On small standard OEM mirrors the passenger mirror is slightly convex, hence the 'vehicles are closer than they appear' warning on the mirror. All towing mirrors; whether Ford, GM, or Toyota have the same flat top mirror which does take some getting used to.

The Toyota ones are not very good, I'm so used to Ford and GM ones that the Toyota ones were too small for my liking. So I found some GM style mirrors on eBay that I have on my truck now. Great for visibility in all situations.

From the dealer and others, the Toyota mirrors are distorted. I have driven numerous trucks My wife delivers for UPS, she knows mirrors and trucks. Sadly we did get a crappy set. It is the factory non motorized POS product. Paid a lot to be disappointed. Should have gone after market

I added 2" round blindspots to mine and can see everything on both sides. Maybe it's just what you personally are comfortable with, I have been using 2" blindspots for over 30 years and never hit anything on the side.
