Opened the hood last night for a good close look at everything while I had it in the garage (I just got the truck on Wednesday). I noticed that one of the holes in the body rail that runs across the truck in front of the radiator was deformed ever so slightly. It almost looks like someone put something like a screwdriver in there and pushed the handle back toward the cab. The truck only has 5500 miles on it and the Carfax has no report of any kind of work being done that would have caused something like this.

Does anyone know of any specific maintenance/repair jobs that would cause this? I've had a minor issue with Carfax in the past, so I guess I'm just a little paranoid now.

Yes very odd, but yeah no obvious repair would involve inserting anything there and certainly not forcing it to the point of stretching the metal.

Anyone else have a similar 'feature' on here? Mine does not.

Looks like the hole was being used as a tool holder for a ratchet handle or screwdriver and someone leaned in under the hood while it was in the hole and had their weight against the tool and didnt realize they were bending the metal. I've done it alot on my old ford but never bent the metal

I'm thinking someone used a screwdriver to pry open the little TUNDRA door on the top right side of the grill to do the TSS sensor fix/TSB. They put the screwdriver in the hole while wrapping the sensor with the foam tape and leaned on the screwdriver by accident or for leverage.
That's the only thing I can think of. :notsure:
