ODB2 and Software Recommendations

I've been using the Ultragauge UltraBlue dongle with their software on my Android and works great for mileage trips coolant temp fuel used/left etc. I have a Innova Diagnostic scan for clearing MIL codes etc. What I'm looking for is an "all in one" ODB2 dongle and software that will do it all, Ultragauge misses on the trans temp which is actually the most important for me while towing. There are tones of bluetooth ODB2 dongles out there (I can get th info to the software) but finding the software that will do it all is difficult. Suggestions?

 

VeePeak OBD and OBD Fusion will give you trans temp (once you enter the PID) and the code reading/clearing feature.

 

I think the most premium all-in-one option would be the OBD link MX+. It uses their own proprietary app which can also update the firmware on the dongle. You don't need to enter any PIDs, they are all included. Recently found out you can view the ATF thermal degradation number too. I've been using their products for years and their customer service is really great.

 

Just add the trans temp PID to the ultra gauge ..

 

Jeff, I have tried every "manufacture" code list I can find to add a "custom gauge" to the UG software. I'm either entering incorrectly or wrong codes

This is what I also use. It has it all. Pricey but like we say, it’s an all in one OBD scanner.

 

What does the screen look like to enter custom pids in Ultra gauge? I’m not sure what format it takes ect. If you can post a screen capture of the entry boxes that would help. The ultra gauge can do it, it just has to be “taught” how to properly.

Ohhh... thats the first year of the Network Gateway and all traffic passes through it/is rerouted by it. I wonder if it is holding up the response for some reason.
