I'm wanting to add seat heaters from Leatherseats.com and before I order the passenger seat, I want to see what type of occupancy seat sensor the SR5 has, or where it's located. These heaters can not be installed over any sensors that may exist on the surface. I'm not planning to take the seats completely apart to learn it's in the base and not the track of the seat.

Are you planning to make it so that the seats only turn on when there's somebody in the seat? I only ask because I don't think they even work like that stock. I have heated seats in mine and it's nice to allow the seats to warm up before you get in with the remote start or before you pick someone up.

This is about limitations on the installation of the carbon fiber heating pads over any sensors that exist per leatherseats.com instructions. Some seats have weight measurements in the track, others a sensor in the back below the headrest. I'm just not sure what the 2021 SR5 base trim level has.

I'm pretty sure it's a weight sensor. Put something about 100 lb in the seat and see if the airbag turns on.
