I have a 2007 Tundra 4.7L. Occasionally, (maybe once a month), I will go to start it after stopping to pick something up, and it will crank over and over, and not start. In fact, when this happens, if I let the ignition key back one notch, it keeps turning the starter motor. Usually, after it sits for a half hour, it will start. Any body else have this issue? What could this possibly be?

My first thought is ignition switch, battery going bad and maybe needing to clean the throttlebody and MAF. I would probably start with the cleaning as it should only cost you a can of throttlebody and MAF cleaner. Also if the battery is older replace or at least have yours load tested. Start small and free/cheap.

You have an older truck so there could be many things that need maintenance. It seems that your battery may be going out.

also if you have not changed spark plugs in the last 50k or so, they probably need replacement.
