For the record, I absolutely love my 2017 TRD PRO.

It is however our families first truck, and sometimes my wife complains about no longer having a third row that I had in my Jeep Commander and suburban before that..

So with all the talk and interest from the 2022 Tundra coming out, my new car itch has begun to you know.... Itch.....

I drove Jeeps for 30 years before I bought my Tundra, mostly a series of Cherokees Grand Cherokees and then a Commander. We also had a GMC suburban that we got rid of when we bought the three row Commander in 06.

So.., with the new car itch going crazy, and my wife's encouragement, I started looking at full size SUVs again so we had all of the towing capacity we want and the size we want. My wicked plan was to keep my truck and make my wife get the new SUV :)

We tend to buy new and keep cars 10 to 12 years. Because I'm a Jeep guy at heart, I've been very interested to see the new Jeep Wagoneer and the grand Wagoner. Saw one for the first time in the flesh yesterday, and it looks to be a substantial impressive great looking vehicle.

Window sticker? These suckers ranged from 75k to 96k..... I was so shocked as I was looking at them that when a dealer dude walked up to me and asked if he could help I pointed to the window sticker and said are you f****** kidding me? He smiled and said I understand but I have to tell you that all of them on our lot are sold and so within a week of getting here.

So then I went back home got on my computer and started checking prices for Sequoia's Expeditions and other full size SUV's.

In the immortal words of former child Star Dickie Richards, "That's Nukin Futs"

So what started this rant? Reports in other threads here that there's 15K markup on outgoing 2021 Tundra TRD PRO's.

I'm thinking the reason that some of these vehicles are so astronomically high is that people now just lease vehicles to keep their payments low so dealers can pop the prices up and up and up.

It's too bad really, because that new Jeep Wagoneer would be right up my alley.

Okay early morning rant mode off continue on all!

I scoped out a new Grand Wagoneer yesterday out of curiosity. I owned one years ago. Was a beast! The new GW is amazing but the sticker price as you mentioned is crazy!" The GW always seemed to have a higher price point. No doubt about that with the new one.

I am in the same boat as you, not looking forward to starting the process of replacing wife's 2011 JGC with something with 3rd row.

Won't be long and the repo auctions will have plenty to bid on. Just wait.

yep. I feel like a thief when I got my 19 PRO in early 2020 for 1.5K off MSRP at 54K.

I simply can't get to the over 80K range for anything that doesn't say AMG, Lexus, Porsche, G class, or LandCruiser on it.

I'm thinking the same thing. Lots of really high dollar cars and trucks won't be so affordable ....

Agreed, that's what happened with the Gladiator. New were running 55-60k, and after the initial surge of buyers, the dealer lots were overflowing with 2020 models, and being sold at 20k off to make way for the 21's.

Got my 2021 Lunar Rock TRD pro at MSRP. Ordered it in I think May and received it in August or 2020, iirc.
I've been offered $25K over what I paid.
Got the 2021 Lunar Rock Sequoia earlier this year for a little under MSRP.
