@Daze823 Check out post #1 in this thread. It now contains the ordering instructions. I ordered more parts so I can make more FRAC harness kits and I am still taking orders if you would like a FRAC harness.

@Bprose... The FRAC Harness is powered from the vehicle Ignition circuit, which is powered on when the key is in the "on" position - one click past the Accessory position. Glad everything is working for you. Great job on the installation!

No, don't get me wrong Lou. You are a rock star for figuring this out and making it available. I'm betting it's starting to pay for more mods.
My dumb ass thought something got kinked w re assembly.
For the next guy, if it's working while disassembled it's probably all good. Off you have same issue, Before you disassemble, start the truck and double check.
    I love it.

I got mine today, installed it and it works perfectly!

Thank you Lou for the Frac2 cable. It does exactly what I wanted. :bananadance:

I have the front camera that’s not flush mount, that sticks out a little bit. When I pull up to a vehicle and put their bumper at the bottom of my screen then I’m about 4” away. When I park on the curb and I want to just clear a driveway entrance to my rear, I can monitor the back camera and stop right on the spot.

I chose the spot above the trailer brake for the two control switches.

Great job, Oscar! Glad to hear the FRACv2 harness is working to your expectations. Sounds like you have the same camera that I do. Sure makes parking a lot easier doesn't it?

Yeah, my wallet suffers from the guitar site I frequent.

I'm sure it will be completely defeated after this one.

The trick on projects like this is to take your time, don't rush it, enjoy the process.

What you might consider doing is ordering the camera and installing it. Then depending on how that goes for you, then you can decide whether you want to make the full commitment and order the cable. The thing about the camera is that it's only $20-30. So if after installing it you decide that this sort of activity isn't really your thing, then finding that out was only a small investment.

On the other hand if you decide to go ahead and order the cable, then at that point you already have a video and power line running into the cab so the main work is just pulling off all the dashboard panels (they mostly pull off along with a small handful of screws) and plugging in the cable and switches.

Neither task is too overwhelming. It's probably an ideal project for finding out whether you enjoy doing that sort of thing.

Thanks! I like this idea. I am also looking at some light bars, so that should help as well.

Thanks! I am going to go slow and watch a lot of videos.

    Thanks!

I read that as "light beers" at first.

Tex, I know you just got the v2 assembly process flowing smoothly, but I'm just wondering if you still plan to do a v3 for the 2nd gen guys. Not rushing you, I don't expect you'd be ready to tackle that research for a while, just wondering if it's still on the horizon.

Received my FRAC harness earlier this week, installed it today. Took me awhile (5 and 1/2 hours) as I have very little experience in this sort of thing. Camera it self was the tricky part for me. I ordered the inewcow camera, instructions were in Chinese....wasn’t sure how it all went together but after some internet research I got it. Then had trouble routing it through the nipple but finally got it with some lithium grease and a coat hanger. Next issue was the video cable got stuck routing it from the nipple to the back of the camera but I eventually got it back out and did a better job taping it to my fish tape for the second attempt. After that the instruction sent with the FRAC harness were spot on and it went pretty smooth. Thanks Tex, this is a great mod and I appreciate you putting this together. I did crack the top of my grill, and broke one flashlight due to my anger getting the best of me . A new grill was on the mod list anyway....

Are there instructions to remove the grille to do this? I could not find any with a quick search. I dont want to break anything.
What do you use to pry the plastic panels? Do i need to buy the plastic pry bar set to pry off the panels and the radio? Are there instructions or a how-to for removing the interior parts? Last thing i want to do is break some plastic clips and get frustrated trying to do this.

It would be easier to have the plastic pretty bar for sure. I pixies some up for about $5 on ebay.

as far as the grill....take out the 3 bolts on the top and use a small screw driver to pop up the 2 tabs on the ends and pull them out. once you have done that you just pull the grill off from the front. you need to put some oomph into it but don't man handle it....do one side at a time.

Yeah, I used videos from taco tunes to remove the pieces inside the cab and search removing headlights in a 2017 Tundra for removing the grill. Plastic trim tools will help for sure. Pretty cheap on Amazon.

Airbox with K&N Filter, 2" lift on 33's, Alpine iLX-F309 head unit, Pull out bed tool boxes, brown with black trim, rims, etc, black leather interior, matching topper. Muffler delete (too loud..) 62k miles!!!
Just put one of these on my wife's 2011 Camry, worked like a charm. Hardest part was pulling the plastic trim piece off in the back of the car to mount the camera. Some dumbass had it off before and cross threaded all the bolts to each stud was messed up about 1/2 way off. An hour later and a sore arm from muscling them off with a pair of pliers holding the stud and it was done.

Definitely still on the list to investigate. I have the wiring diagrams, just need to find the time to look at them.
