Is it just me or are these flying off the shelves? They’re extremely cheap right now. Always wanted one and 4wd would be nice to mix it up. Does anyone else notice the price drop in 01-07 sequoias and even first gen tundras a bit? Atleast in SoCal. Had a buddy just buy one for under 2k with a few scratches on the rear bumper and 180k on the odometer. Seems worth it to me. What do you guys think?

Good value for sure. I just don't have a need for a giant SUV. It bet it rides nicer than my truck though.

I’ve been eyeballing these Sequoias, as well.

They are cheap even compared to Tundras of the same year. Major thing to look out for are leaky roofs.

My leaky roof was caused by clogged sun roof drains. One of the major causes for roof leaks along with trying to clear the clog with compressed air. They need to be cleaned with a small drain snake so you don't blow the drain hose off.

That looks like a great deal to me.

Honestly, I have more need of a giant SUV than I do a pickup most of the time.

The 1st gen Sequoias are awesome!! I got a 1 owner 02 Limited 4x4 4-5 years ago with 215k miles that is in really good shape for $3700 for my wife. The short wheelbase makes them easy drive and park and I can even sit comfortably in the 3rd row seat at 6'4".

A coworker just showed me a 04 Sequoia 4x4 with 118k on the clock, seller was asking 4500. I thought that was really cheap, after reading this post it sounds like it's not a steal as I thought. Yeah it's 15 years old but it's only 3 in Ford years haha.

So ironic you guys started saying watch out for leaky roofs. My tundra leaked out of the upper corners from the windshield and now I’m trying to fix it. I also have the leak on passenger side floor coming from a grommet/plastic clip at the top of the hood where the vent grill screws in. So 3 leaks pretty much. Do you think I’ll have to silicone the window( take it out and redo the seal or do you think there’s a clog along the drain channel like you stated? I’ll post some pics tomorrow. I know how to take care of the one on the hood thanks to @Professional Hand Model

I've seen some killer deals too. I was planning another truck or a TJ build for a fun truck after I sell my prerunner, but I might just have to make a go fast grocery getter Sequoia.

@Volt92 my boss just let her 07 go for 3500. Rear wheel drive, leather, in pretty good shape. It will show up at a used car lot in Simi Valley next month I'm sure.

That one you posted is trashed inside. Looks like they are right around the corner from me.

    Skip it.

I'd only go for VVTI engines, those started in '05 thru '07. At least 40+ more ponies and torque, makes the Difference in these 5500lb vehicles, ask me how I know.

Great vehicles, tons of space too. They're just getting up there in age. I have an 03 that is my daily driver. Me and the family test drove a brand new Yukon last year and the kids had significantly less 3rd row space in the Yukon. Even with the 2 blu-ray players they wouldn't budge on the space. I sat back there and they were right, your knees are in your chest and you've got to tuck your toes under the second row seats find a position that doesn't break your ankles. Not the case in the 1st gen (2nd gen is even larger!), an adult sits comfortably back there. We're waiting on a full Sequoia redesign at this point, I can't stand 2nd gen Sequoia aesthetics. But I wouldn't be surprised if we never see it. I'd grab it at that price if you're looking for a family hauler

I agree with you on the 2nd gens. Yeah I’m looking for a 4x4 to do some crawling with or mountain adventures. Great how you could remove the 2 rows of seats. My tundras 2wd and I use it for work as well so just want another toy.

Yeah if it’s a second gen would have to do the facelift. I don’t like the design too much. Just more money though. More cheaper more better. Lol

My second rows fold up behind the driver/pass seats, I've never tried to remove them. The 3rd row has a quick release system and they pop right out. From the folded second row to the back hatch is 6ft and some change. Removing the second row and rolling the driver/pass seat forward would net you 9ft of sleeping area, just for your references. (but not at the console area, it is stationary)
