Okay so I have fiddled and read almost every advice there is and I am still unable to come to a clear conclusion. I have a 2015 non-JBL audio system which I upgraded by installing a component set up front and a coaxial set in the rear. I have created a signal and output wiring loom which has been installed to plug into the factory radio harness and is fed under the console to my amp.
After the initial install, it appeared everything was running properly. However, I quickly realized the tweeters still sounded distorted and so harsh it brings ear pain.
I did not have a plug and play wiring harness for the tweeters. I cut the factory connector and connected the full range signal to a passive crossover to which I connected the tweeter.
In theory, this all makes sense to me and it should produce good results, but I am still getting that harsh, shrill sound from a pair of edge driven, silk dome tweeters!
I have weighed a few options below:
    1. Unplug the output for the front channel and run speaker wire through the doors and dash for the tweeter/midrange (I really don’t want to do this)
    2. Disconnect the crossover, purchase a wiring harness, and reconnect the tweeters to that harness
    3. Purchase a wiring harness to install the passive crossover in the door (rather than in the tweeter mounting location). This would pull the signal from the midrange input (which I presume is full range). I would then run speaker wire from the crossover to the midrange in the door and re-install the tweeters in the sail panel, also wired to the crossover.

would any of these fixes produce any results or is the issue from the hu/input signal?
