had a terrible noise on startup this morning. Banging, screaming noise.

Shut it off and opened the hood. See the momma cat and kittens that live under my shop's storage room running out and away.

Never expected that in the summer.

My wife saw all 3 later in the day and they seem fine.

There was another thread about this the other day, a lot of recommendations of letting out a honk before you actually start up. Hopefully they made it out ok!

Mine does the same thing if I leave the AC on; multiple others have experienced the same. The general consensus seems to be that it's not anything at all to worry about.

Crazy thing is we have 11-13 feral cats living between our house and the neighbor's house and I've never (knock on wood) had any of them crawl up in my engine compartment. Guess I've been lucky!

Well that's unexpected :rofl:I clicked thinking an engine was sending parts left and right. But instead, it's sending cat litter left and right!

Glad the motor is okay, gang.:hattip:
