Strange noise under gentle acceleration. It almost sounds like a loose chain on a bicycle, it’s difficult to describe, but it’s definitely coming from the front end/engine bay of the truck. I hear it mostly when I’m driving along at a consistent speed and then begin to gently accelerate, but not enough to drop a gear.

I’ve attached an audio file of the noise, during which I was gently accelerating up to 50mph (on level ground and rwd) and probably in 4th or 5th gear. Truck is a 2021 4x4. Any ideas?

listened w/ headphones cranked up, sounds like a perfectly healthy 5.7. Then again, I probly dont hear it from mine bc no mufflers :anonymous: next oil change swap to 5w30, bet the clicking quiets down. Its a noisy engine

I hear it. Sounds maybe like a heat shield on a cat vibrating or something that resonates when you get to that speed. Check under the truck and tap around to see if anything’s loose.
