No start occasionally and check engine light / trac light on

Hey guys i picked up a tundra 2010 5.7 couple months ago and its been great but occasionally when i turn the key it just will click once then the dash goes blank, then i let it sit for 2 3 seconds i hear a relay click type sound then all lights come on in dash and it starts up.

also sometimes it has check engine light on and the traction control symbol and then it just dissapears,

any help? i can pull codes for the two, but it leads me to believe theyre not real since they both turn off on their own occasionally

 

Check battery terminals.

 

What codes are you getting?? May be a loose ground... how many miles??

 

just 2 codes its p0335 CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR A CIRCUIT ,
and a abs code C1201 1. BRAKE BOOST SENSOR CIRCUIT RANGE / PERFORMANCE 2. ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM

I had battery checked already and it came back good and terminals are nice and tight i ensured that also. i can check grounds also . is there a wiring diagram or is the main ground i should check just the one on the body next to the battery?

and im at 169k miles i believe 160 something

 

C1201 is an ABS code.. I got rid of it with a zero point calibration. Jumping the OBD terminals and taking it for a short drive.
P0335 can be a variety of things to be honest. Fail to start will pop this and eventually it's friends, Camshaft bank 1 and 2 as well as sensor A and B. There is no real easy way to go about it... Next time it fails to start you can try jumping the relay with a wire. See if you get any clicks. It sounds similar an issue I'm having but when my starter died and it gave me the same codes and symptoms.

ground were fine, heres a video of what its doing, probably is starter on its way out, but its kinda weird how instrument cluster does what it does. video attached

If the crankshaft position sensor is bad it’ll cause you to have starting problems; probably intermittently going bad by the fact that the light goes on and off and it only happens every now and then. Make sure the pigtail on the sensor is good and not melted; if you’re gonna replace the sensor only buy oem from the dealer, aftermarket isn’t worth it


Your battery terminals should be good, if you were having connection problems the dtc’s would’ve cleared when you lost connection and wouldn’t be stored anymore

 

This may be similar to what I'm going through, but my 1st start always starts.... subsequents one not always start. This may be a starter starting to die. Only way to figure is once it fails, jump it with a wire with the key in the ON position. If it just clicks, then for sure its the starter.
