03 3.4 tundra slow and hesitant start once truck is up to temp. I bought the truck and noticed it doesn't have a heatshield over the manifold and the starter is located a few inches below it. Anyone else ever run in to this issue?

I’ve never heard of heat shielding or lack of it causing a problem with other components. The heat shielding is typically meant for those working at or near the heat source (in this case, the exhaust manifold) to not get burned.
