No active airdam on 2023 1794 Hybrid with TRD OR?

I was getting ready to put on the TRD Skid Plate, and looked under to see if I need to put the airdam in maintenance mode. (I've only had this about 6 days now and hadn't looked under this end of it yet) - and no airdam! ??? I thought this was on to help with mileage? Or is it not in 1794 hybrid TRD OR? (maybe a delete and not part of TRD OR?)

The TRD Off Road package eliminates the air dam on ALL trim levels that have it.

TRD OR Package = No Active Air Dam.

If you plan on doing any more mods to your front end...you'll be thankful you don't have it.

 

I was thinking it didn't make sense to have it as part of TRD, but wasn't sure. Thanks.

 

No worries. Glad I could help. It is still part of the TRD Sport package (I believe). It's just deleted from the OR package.

 

I have a 2022 Limited with Off-road package. The active airdam is on my truck.. Is this a change for the 2023?

Hybrids have the air dam. Ive just put lifts on 3 trucks all hybrids that have the airdam

 

I Have a 2023 1793 TRD OR Hybrid and it does NOT have the air dam. I was very surprised and happy to see. Have put about 3k on it averaging 18mpg. A lot of highway during that time. Air dam would probably reduce mpg, but for mod purposes I am happy its not there.

 

with the off-road package? The 1794 hybrid with off-road definitely does not, from my understanding all hybrid off roads don’t have it

No, from my understanding the TRD ORs dont have air dams, hybrid or not. Ive heard Canadian trucks have different stuff tho. I havent seen any TRD OR trucks with air dams

 

Likewise, 2022 1794 Crewmax TRD OR with air dam. Maybe a 2023 thing?

 

Just checked mine. I have a 2022(9/19/22 build) SR5 TRD OR and it doesn't have the air dam.

 

This seems to be all over the place and nothing standard. Check my profile pic, air dam on 22 Limited DC TRD-OR... Well, not any more, I removed it when lifted.

 

No air dam on my 23 1794 non-hybrid with TRD OR pkg.

off road package deletes the air dam

 

Toyota must of figured it out, as the 22's came with air dam. I am also seeing the 23 TRD-OR are coming with the TRD skid plate too where the 22 did not.

 

That’s usually a port installed option, not a factory piece (the TRD skid plate)

 

My 2022 TRD OR Limited, built in March 2022, has the air dam.

 

Yes, our Nov 11 build 1794 TRD OR skid plate is port installed...and paid extra for it. Didn't have a choice as it was on the dealers allocated vehicle. The only real choice we had was to accept or reject the truck.

 

Where in Idaho are you? Have only seen one other 1794 in the Boise area

Does it really slam on the brakes by itself when you're trying to back up a trailer if you don't program the computer every time you get in the truck??
