Hey Guys! Just picked-up a 2006 Tundra 4x4 double cab TRD limited. Thing has 190K miles and drives like crap. Want to put 295/75/16 AT tires on it. Thinking I'll do Bilstein 5100 all around which should raise/level the front an inch or so and accommodate the larger tires correct? Of course I will do an alignment and possibly brakes at the same time.

So I searched these threads but what I can't find is the exact model number(s) of the Bilsteins I need to buy for my particular tundra.

Any help with that would be greatly appreciated!
    TIA Zimm

When you say it drives like crap, like, specifically what feels like crap?

Before you spend a lot of time on suspension mods, examine that frame carefully. A lot of people fail to check and realize theirs is Swiss cheese, especially if it came from or lives in the Rust Belt states. Which can make them drive like crap.

Welcome aboard. "Drives like crap" will be exacerbated by the addition of oversized tires. Check for overwhelming rust as mentioned above. I would sort the front suspension first, ball joints, tie rods, A-arm bushings, steering rack and bushings, sway bar and end link bushings. Check all of these and get them into good working order. Then if you want to lift, the Bilstein 5100's or 6112's will do nicely. The tires you are wanting to run will rub. Are you planning to run them on factory rims?

    Thanks for the comeback shifty!

It has some minor steering wheel shake when accelerating and pulls to the right pretty good. On my f150 these were solved with new shocks/tires/alignment.

The truck has lived in southern Cal it’s whole life and no accidents. Super clean for year and mileage.

    Thanks again!

Thanks KNABORES! Agreed and taking to a suspension shop this afternoon.

Are there specific 5100 and 6112 models I need or any will fit? I picked up some 16x8 method wheels on CL.

    THANKS!

Following as I am thinking of refreshing the suspension next. Going for OEM+ (no plans to lift but definitely improve on the old dampers) and $399 is a great price compared to my Volvo's $2k units.

Thanks for the help guys! Going with Bilstein 5100's all around (if/when I can find someone who has them in stock!). Method wheels and Toyo AT II 295/75/16 treads.

Should be a good looking setup. Gonna need that BFH to clear those tires.

I don't think it dawned on me until now that I literally just paid a little more for my new OEM headlights than I'd pay for shocks.

But I'd want to do shocks and springs at same time, and wheels and tires. These trucks look a lil goofy sometimes on 5100s and OEM wheels.

Are you keeping the stock springs? I'm guessing you'll need more than a 1 inch lift up front to fit those tires. I'd go with ARB coils and 285 tires.
