The title says it all. I have a 1996 T100 with a lift gate. It has been a fantastic truck. Oddly, it is beginning to show its age, so I am in the hunt for a newer 2.5 gen Tundra to replace it. This looks like a place where I can learn a lot, so I thought I would jump in and start reading all I can get my hands on.

Thanks in advance for having previously posted threads for me to use as I go on this quest.

I have a 93 single cab T100, a 96 xcab T100 and a 19 DC Tundra. Tundra is a great truck and love driving it. The T100s feel much smaller on job sites and parking lots which is their only real plus compared to 2nd gen Tundra. The tundra is leagues better on any highway or road trip especially if hauling.

Welcome from CA (Central Alabama). My daily driver is a 1997 T-100 Xtra cab 4WD with the manual transmission. LOVE driving that truck.

Thanks so much for making me feel at home. I appreciate it.

One thing I would like to start looking into is trim levels for the 2.5 gen. I will try searching for that on the forum to see if someone has put together a list of the different levels and what they include.

I have been to LA, and was in CA just a couple of weeks ago ;-)

My first Toyota was a 1993 T100 regular cab with the 3.0L V6, currently have a 2021 Tundra 5.7L V8. The only thing the T100 did better was getting into tight spots to haul firewood and driving in the snow, my Tundra weighs almost twice as much as the T100 and feels about twice as big.

You'll be able to find just about everything you'd want to know about the Tundra here. It's a great community.
