It always happens this way. I was looking for a used extended cab Chevrolet Silverado or Ford F-150 with a rear door that closed to the front of the truck. Chevy quit making them but Ford still does. Found a 2013 Silverado 1500 LT so all the bells and whistles. Saw it online at a Chevy dealer on Thursday, the Fourth of July. I drove to the dealer on Friday morning but it had already been sold. Significant other suggested we try the next sales lot for a used Silverado. It happened to be an AutoNationUSA. They didn’t have any Silverados or F-150s in the style I wanted. The salesman pulled up on his computer a white 2014 Crewmax Tundra that was in our budget. He went to retrieve the truck I went to retrieve my better-half. The salesman pulls the truck up. I’m not really interested other than figuring out if I can fit in it. I’m 6’6” 305 lbs. My acid test is to put the driver’s seat all the way back and then try to squeeze myself into the back seat. I fit with room to spare. After a test drive and a very long discussion, we bought it. We’re “Un-Tricking Our Ride” to better suit our needs. Having front and rear lift kits removed as well as replacing the 20” Fuel wheels and 35”x12.50”x20” tires with stock Toyota 20” alloy rims and a quieter set of tires. So far so good but I have learned that if you need lug nuts to get them at Costco. $2.76/ vs. $20/ at the dealer. So I gave up the barn door 6 foot bed for a shorter box and a much much bigger cab as well as Toyota reliability.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! Be careful to check those cheap lug nuts often. There's a reason they're so cheap.

Thanks for the Welcome! greetings and the advice about the lug nut. I’ve had good success with Costco lug nuts. The last time my 2013 Highlander had the tites balanced and rotated they noticed stock lug nut were starting to swell. I had them replace all except one on the right rear wheel. The chrome lug nut cover had broken loose from the underlying nut and would just spin. The were not equipped to remove it. I drilled several holes in the center of the cover, cut and peeled it back over itself and then jammed the next size larger impact socket on it. Viola, lug nut off. Picked up a new lug nut at the dealer and dropped the car off at Costco to get the last of the new tires installed. My brother-in-law told me about Costco having lug nuts at a better price than the dealer after the fact.

Welcome from Winston Salem, NC. If you are 6'6" my suggestion for an initial mod is to look into Seat Jackers for the driver seat on desertdoesit.com. These are a great adjustment to the comfort of the front seat for taller drivers.
