I'm looking to replace my stock wheels with a newer design and I want them to be matte black. I really don't want to pay $1k+ for wheels. Anyone have luck finding decent priced wheels? Also, has anyone had any experience having their wheels powder coated? Thanks for responding.

If you want to go cheap? Dip your stock wheels yourself. YouTube is your friend. New type of special paint that will peel off when you want to remove it. People hit their trim logos with it when wanting to get rid of all chrome.

if you want some sweet wheels. I had these on my 08. Good luck. D https://www.stealthcustomseries.com/collections/jeep

I have dropped, in fact I used the new Hyperdip. I'm not happy with the way it turned. When I did my old Subaru's wheels worth Plastidip they turned out good and lasted. The Hyperdip not so much. I will check out your link. Thanks

Hate to break it to you but $1000 for wheels is cheap.

Well, that sucks. I just may go the powder coat route. It's $600, but still less than new wheels.

I looked into this problem for my '02 Honda Accord. I decided it was cheaper to just get my wheels blasted and recoated than trying to buy new wheels.

Matte black never holds up well on wheels. Without some type of clear coat, which then no longer makes them matte, but now has a sheen.

For my 2008 I got 2021 new take offs with near new tires (less than 100 miles) for $750, cheaper than a new set of tires. Now difficult to find as I bought mine in 2022 off CL.
