A few months ago I had built right UCAs installed into my 2024 tundra. When I turn at lower speeds I can feel a like a pop and hear it. I called the shop here in San Diego, a very reputable shop and they didn’t sound concerned and told me to come in and they will gladly take a look and get it right. Upon showing them by turning the steering wheel they confidently said it was from the ball joint of the new UCAs. They said the fit is so precise that takes a bit of break in and the sound will go away. They then just sprayed a cleaner on the joint.

Is this right? The noise is driving me insane. No way I want my new truck sounding like this.

They're using Uniballs, not ball joints, so yes, you'll run into noises like that and need to keep some lubricant on hand. The arms should have come with some sort of maintenance guide too, I would think.

Thank you for the input. Can you please recommend a lubricant I can safely use? Want to make sure I don’t use something that attracts a ton of dirt. Also, to apply, does that require me to disassemble the uniball or can I just apply to it as is?

CRC Dry Lube PTFE is the most commonly recommended one.

Again, it should have come with a maintenance schedule and how to do it. Call the manufacturer and ask them what needs to be done.
