Hi Guys. I became an owner of a 2000 tundra 2wd three weeks ago. I drive a rubicon as my daily driver because it’s really easy to pull behind our motorhome. And most of my passion time goes into my 72 International Scout. So when hunting for a truck I was looking for something cheap because it will stay in storage till I need a truck, yet it needs to be reliable enough to crank when I need it.
Everyone knows Toyota wins when it comes to reliability. I started looking at old Tacoma’s and wow are those things holding there value well. Then I got interested in the Tundra because of the 4.7s reliability. I found this one with 208k, a little hail damage, a few other small dents and dings, decent maintenance records and clear car fax. It’s lived it’s life in north alabama/chattanooga so no rust. My first update was the timing belt and water pump that u guys recommend on here Second was rotary buffing with compound then polish then wax. next I blacked out all the old stained chrome and faded trim with plasti dip IT looked awful when I got it, had been sitting under trees w no sun for months and was covered in mold I think it cleaned up nice. I think I am starting to fall in love! I may store the jeep and drive this thing for a while this weekend it gets a pioneer 1440nex, backup camera and led climate control lights Need 5100,s and just a little lift, level (run them on my scout and love them) but that may have to wait awhile. Below is before and after. The passenger side never saw the sun and was basically black with mold. Interior is in gat shape. Thanks for all the info and I am thrilled to be a tundra guy!7529B281-758C-4D3E-8965-B0615FE36E3D.jpg 2CCB378B-1352-478C-ADD3-5973C844900B.jpg

Oops! I did not intend to add my scout picture on a tundra thread. That one was for the binder planet forum!
