Got my 2021 TRD PRO a couple weeks ago. 30 miles after picking it, check engine light, code P0012. Eventually Toyota told dealer to take oil control valve off, clean it and put it back. so far after 800 miles check engine light didn't come back yet. hope that was the fix. Dealer says the oil control valve was dirty when the vehicle was built.
Now, i have two other issues
1: when engine at around 1600~2000RPM, i can feel buzzing kind of vibration from my gas pedal, no vibration from break pedal or parking break. Feeling like resonance with engine to me but i am not sure. Do yours has similar buzzing vibration, is this normal?
2: My fuel door doesn't close tight, very loose. Seems to me spring tension is not enough or something, kind disappointed this passed the factory inspection.

First time Tundra owner. Came from BMW X5 for Tundra's reliability but so far little bit disappointed from above things. Love V8 engine, TRD exhaust sound and the suspension :)

    Welcome from NY.

I would bring it back to the dealership and have everything fixed.
This is something that normally doesn't happen. You will love the Tundra and glad you bought it once this quirk is fixed.

Welcome from WV. I also had the CEL come on for the same reason with <50 mi on the truck. Took it back to the dealer and they cleaned the OCV and changed the oil and the service manager took it home for the night. When he returned the next morning they changed the oil 2 more times after driving it a few miles each time. They claimed it was from break-in and wouldn't be a problem going forward which I'm not sure I believe them 100% but I have put over 1800 miles on it since the CEL including some light towing <3000lbs and the truck runs great and there are no glaring issues. I also get the buzzing in the throttle pedal which I assumed was just resonance like yourself, it has gotten less noticeable the more miles I put on it.

My gas door is also very loose and doesn't close very tight. Just noticed it recently and not sure if it was always like this. I know some on here have had to replace the spring so I may look into that.

I think those weak springs are for some of us that forget to close the fuel door after filling up. Hit the highway and the wind remembers to close it for you.

With mine they found coolant leak on first inspection under intake only one who found it was master tech. Has me thinking issues with Covid or something, very disappointed they should warranty all of that. I haven’t had the issue but they did take care of mine

Thanks @mountaineerpeej from NJ. Nice double cab one you got there. I thought I might be a rare unlucky one got this CEL right out of the dealer lot :). My dealer didn't say they changed oil besides OCV cleaning but so far almost 1k miles, CEL hasn't backed yet and the truck rides smoothly. I will bring to the dealer this Friday for the fuel door loose and this buzzing vibration, hope just resonance. I compared to my 10 years old X5, it kind has similar buzzing vibration from gas pedal at low RPM, but much less noticeable than the Tundra. I will post back here Friday after come back from dealer for the update.

This is very disappointing. I thought because the chip shortage, they got plenty time to build these trucks with better quality. Glad the master tech found it before turning into bigger problem.

ok, didn't think about that reason, lol. Or if you're backing up and you got tailwind, it helps you open it up, lol

All joking aside I've found the placement of the gas cap idiot string plays a part in the door fully closing. Rotate the cap end around behind the cap and the door closes flush. Just make sure no houseflies get trapped in behind the door or you'll come back later to find they've pushed the door ajar and escape. OK, maybe not all joking aside...

Sometimes, the plastic wire that holds the cap gets twisted up and holds the door open a bit.
Just unwind the cable and it should close.

Thanks for the suggestion. It's not really that it won't close, it's that it's rather floppy and doesn't "snap" back closed. I highly suspect that the spring is broken.

mine is the same. not enough tension to hold tight close, floppy, not snap back.
