My dealership has lied to me twice about delivery date. After two months waiting I asked dealership about my order. To my surprise I found out that my order was pushed back twice, now January 15th. Now I’m pissed

For what it's worth, you don't actually have an order. no one can "order" a toyota. Toyota's distributors allocate vehicles to the dealership(s) and they might or might not get something close to what you've requested.

It’s a allocation. After two months is there any way to track your vehicle

We were told our truck would be built, the first of december, then the 5th. Yesterday I checked in with Bobbilly and it showed it being manufactured yesterday the 15th, so they may be building them slower or sorting something out, who knows, it maybe better for future owners.

Do they have the Platinum trim allocated to you like in your description? With Capstone 22" wheels? Wonder if that unique setup is the issue...or is that combo common?

Patience, grasshopper. I put my deposit down for an allocated truck in Feb, pick it up towards the end of August.

@Outbound I’ve been trying to follow along on this forum - from my understanding our (Canadian) trucks are harder to track with fancy websites and such… correct?

I have a truck originally scheduled for Jan delivery, now pushed to Feb. Do you know the gap between build date and delivery date? (I.e. if my delivery date is Feb, when is it likely scheduled for build)? The dealer has confirmed I don’t have a VIN yet, but I have a “VTN” - it’s a 7 digit number.

Yeah, I wasn't able to track the truck at all myself during the process. That said my truck was built in June. So it was about 2 months from build date to delivery date. My dealer was able to tell me when it was loaded on the train Texas because that's when they were sent the info. From there, they got updates when it hit the border, then when it got to Edmonton before being trucked up to GP. The actual transport from Texas dealership was about 4.5 weeks iirc.

I have reserved an allocation in Alabama. Southeast Toyota has a website:
    https://explore.setbuyatoyota.com/

I can go there and see the inventory allocated for about the next 60-90 days. The truck I’ve put a deposit on had a date of Jan 12 when I put money down. Over the last month the estimated date has moved back and forth a week or two. It currently sits on Jan 18 but was at Jan 24 a couple days ago.

My point is the dealer may not be entirely sure and not necessarily lying.

Some more good knowledge…if the VIN you’re tracking has a letter in the last 5 digits, that vehicle still hasn’t started production. The expected date of one of these is even more fluid.

    Lots of stuff!
    TRD-JP,
I put a deposit down on a Limited Crew in April. I kept checking with the dealership monthly to see what was up. Eventually, I discovered that they had no idea what was coming to them.

In September, I found another dealer advertising a Limited Crew (different than what we originally wanted) but they said it would be delivered in 3 weeks so I jumped on it. It is black which we are okay with and a long box which also works. I found the ad for our truck on Craigslist. There are several on their now in our area. These are a mix of overpriced used ones and new ones at MSRP with delivery dates.

We had to keep checking and we checked other dealerships as well. If a dealership has one close to what you want and it is actually on the way, you might want to grab it.

I ended up buying mine out of state. Just starting finding all the dealerships and sending emails until I was able to find a dealership that had one and willing to sell to me. Took awhile as I had been waiting for my local dealership since March. Just got tired of waiting.
