    Hey guys,

I'm looking to buy a Tundra for the first time, coming from a 2009 Tacoma TRD Sport. This will be my daily driver and also my work truck (construction). I'm leaning heavily towards a 2019-2021 double cab 6.5' bed. I'm not very knowledgeable about trucks or cars so I come here humbly. My questions are:

Are there any reasons I should seriously consider a 3rd gen? Seems to me that the 2nd gen is tried and true and Toyota had many years to work out problems.

What should I look for and look out for when shopping around for a used Tundra? Single owner? No accident history? Bent or rusted frame? Is there a mileage sweet spot in terms of best value? I plan to keep the truck for a good long while.

    Appreciate any advice. Thank you.

    Welcome from NY.

2018 was the last year for the transmission cooler. If you go with the 2019 to 2021 you can add the aftermarket kit. Since you said it will yor DD/work truck you may want to consider that if your doing a lot of idling or towing.
    Good luck with your search.

Hey Jim, appreciate the reply. Did the 2019-2021 tundras experience issues without the coolers? I am in a big city so some amount of idling is to be expected. Thanks
