Stopped by an exhaust shop yesterday to get a price on replacing my stock muffler with a straight pipe while retaining the resonator and factory tailpipe. I mentioned that if it was too loud I would just be back to put in a Magnaflow. The owner looked at me and said do you want to see what that Magnaflow would sound like. Turns out he had a 2001 with a Magnaflow, resonator and factory tailpipe. They jumped on it and I am satisfied. A little louder than stock, easy fit. On the way up there I was on a flat stretch of highway about 10 miles long. At 2000 rpm in cruise I was going exactly 60. Coming home, same highway at 2000 I was going 62. I'll take that as a little progress.

I rode around with the window down and the radio off today. Never did that before:) The tech said after it burns in a bit it will get a little louder. This is probably around my 7th or 8th Magnaflow. Always liked the sound.

Is there one regular size muffler on for the entire system, or one for the lft and rht side?

Not familiar with trk and completely forgot about the gas tank's side, lol. That would have been my best screw-up. Thanks.
I have 2 new Corsa mufflers that have been laying around in their boxes for the past 10 years. They were meant to be used for a 4.7 motor I was building up for a Mercury Grand Marquis. Thinking of installing both on the Tundra cause I like the sound, however the Tundra has original stock TRD one muffler system that's quiet but gives a good aggressive growl when stepping on it. Might stay with the TRD muffler that's in there cause the trks with stock engine and not a hot rod. But those Corsa's do sound good to me also.

If the muffler is a 2.5 center in offset outlet weld er up!

Dual exhaust on certain engines is overrated.

Offset both ends where in and out aren't straight across. I'm not worth a hoot for welding a good bead or knowing where the best place for them to go are. Have to take the trk to a couple muffler places I know of and see what they say, or take a loss and finally just sell them...ouch! But yeah, 2.5" because it was going on a fast engine whereas this motor cannot go past stock and needs 2.25" to retain good torque. Can always get reducers if they can make them fit w/o burning up the floor above them.
