    Howdy,
    2021-07 I picked up a 2010 4.6, 4x4 double cab, Grade edition w 103k mi. Black on Black.

I've had Yoda's since the 90's, and do all of my own work. Two things I'd like to change up are the addition of fog lights and hands free calling.

I thought the addition of an SR5 radio w Bluetooth would be a drop but that appears to get expensive with the addition of an air bag potentially, so this may lead to an aftermarket HU w out steering wheel controls... I'm still looking at options...

That's all I have for now...

    Congrats and Welcome Aboard!

Definately go aftermarket over factory. Wireless android auto/carplay is absolutely amazing!

    Welcome to the forum.

    I agree with @Danimal86
Aftermarket with wireless android auto/carplay would be the way to go.
    I'd suggest Pioneer or Kenwood.
If you buy from Crutchfield they have the option to prewire your wiring harness making it a plug-and-play install.

If you don't have steering wheel controls that makes it cheaper and easier.
If you do have steering wheel controls an iDatalink Maestro will help you retain them...

    Thanks Gentlemen. Much appreciated.

The Grade series has no steering wheel controls but that shouldn't slow down an aftermarket HU.

I see the prices from $ 200 to 600. I was trying to keep this under 3oo. My concern with aftermarket HU is someone might want it more than me wreck my stuff taking it.

It would be nice to add OBD Fusion App and monitor stuff, with that. Anyone know if the mic is there in the overhead console?

Truck has the tow package and is rust free but has its share of door dings. So far I've changed all the fluids to synthetic except the poor trans. It's next! My IS-350 has the same A760 trans, so it will get a pan drop, filter, dump and repeat a couple times, refilling with Amsoil. This likely isn't uncommon but in 11 years and 105k, no one ever greased the drive shafts! :eek2: poor thing! lol

Last summer the AC compressor seized solid nearly stalling the engine, thankfully the ECM realized it's fate and disengaged the clutch.

I was cursing the engineers that didn't make it possible to remove the condenser from the front. Maybe the studs on the compressor a little too! lol

There seems to be plenty Fog light DIY, I have some Morimoto LEDs but need to buy the mounts for them. Plan is to add a switch that comes on with ignition AND running lights so they can't be left on and basically come on whenever the running lights and switch are on. Ya, I could add the OEM stalk, but it seems a waste as I have to mod it to run the fogs. I generally drive with running lights on always.... I'm assuming that dropping in the relay gets me power to the lights but planned on installing them if I go looking under the apron...

Thanks for the welcome and any input on HUs that A, won't break the bank.
B, don't pop out of the dash.
    C, Android OS....

    Kind regards...

Try www.crutchfield.com they will have everything for plug and play. Probably take you less then 30 minutes to install. Just put in all of the vehicle information.

I used crutchfield when I upgraded the head unit on my 08 Limited. Mine took more than a half hour, but it wasn’t bad at all.

I didn’t have steering wheel controls and followed one of the how tos on here. It ended up costing me about $300 for an airbag, $50 for controls, and $50 for the swc radio adapter. But now I have steering wheel controls and find in quite nice!!

mine had fogs already, but you should be prewired for fogs and if so I think you can add the oem stalk (might need a relay too) and that should give you control of the fogs

and if you’re gonna go oem fogs I’d buy the auto headlight stalk and while you’re at it add the auto headlight feature as well!!!

    This is enlightening! Thanks!
Did you have to replace the clock spring too or did the stock oem unit have all the connections for the wheel controls?

Did you install an OEM or aftermarket HU?

No clock spring replacement needed. You unbolt the airbag then when you remove it you can see where steering controls are suppose to go. I bought the steering wheel cutout airbag and the controls and they all bolted up nicely, easy job. On a different forum a member posted how he cut the plastic around his nonsteering control airbag to allow steering controls to fit. I tried that and we’ll you can see how that ended lol

I went with an aftermarket pioneer with CarPlay.
