New to the forum and new Toyota Tundra owner. Actually work for GM. Just bought a 2018 and can’t believe the power and torque of the 5.7. I’m from SW Michigan.

What I actually told them was, “when you work at McDonald’s you don’t eat dinner there too” In all honesty, the plant I work at builds ALL the 12mm lifters for Toyota Na. so in all reality, I’m keeping that area going. That’s my story either way. We used to be Delphi but when GM filed for bankruptcy, the feds told them they had to buy us to supply their lifters, cam phasers and front and rear differentials. They wanted to get them built in China. The car czar told them it was the American people’s money is going to bail you out, so it would be in your best interest to keep building the components in the USA. Soooo they bought us and cut out pay for skilled trades by $5.00 p/h and operators by $8.00 p/h! We’ve gained back $3.00 over the last 12 years. I like my job and the benefits but their not going to tell me what I can buy and can’t. Long post, but it’s the truth of the matter. Tundra is probably built more in the USA than some of the Silverados that are built in Mexico and Canada.
