Hey fellow Tundra owners, glad to be among like-minded Toyota enthusiasts. Picking up my just purchased, 2015 crewmax Limited tomorrow after the Certified inspection and a tonneau cover and running board install at the Dealer. Thinking about additional modifications; trd dual exhaust and CAI. Given my MN residence, will a CAI cause any headache in the cold winter months? I once owned a Chevy that was from California that had a souped up engine with CAI and I couldn’t run the thing from november to April. Thoughts?

Welcome. The CAI is purely cosmetic for the Tundra. There's no evidence that it enhances performance.

A little of this and a little of that.
Welcome from Las Vegas. All a CAI does it make it sound different. Ask me how I know.

I am thinking about the TRD Dual Exhaust so that should satisfy my need for a little rumble and thus may forego the CAI. Thanks folks!!:p

Great sound from the TRD but I'm having issue with the right pipe hanging a little lower than the left. Still trying to fix it. See my latest video on it.

Sad news here in MN. I picked up my 2015 Tundra after the reconditioning and 166 pt inspection. When I got in the truck, it still smelled of a previous smoker owner. I thought the drive home I could grow accustomed to it. I didn’t and not only that, I noticed a rock chip in the windshield. Needless to say, my wife was not impressed with the smell (she being a Public Health Nurse with a nose that knows). We promptly drove back to the Dealer to return it. The sticking point may be the tonneau cover and running boards I added, but I sensed the Manager will talk to the Parts Department to refund that purchase entirely. They are also going to search for another Tundra for me. Really liked the crewmax, limited trim. They returned my ‘05 to me and I relisted it on Craigslist with 4 inquiries already tonight. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Welcome from San Diego! Sorry to hear about the truck but it sounds like it is all working out. I'm sure you'll get more money for your '05 privately than trade in. More money for more mods on the next truck!

Update: dealer reimbursed me all but a $100 restocking fee on the tonneau and boards. After internet shopping for a used limited crewmax, the dealer made me a deal for a new 2018 that would only be a couple grand more than the 2017 I was interested in. So I am getting a silver 2018 crewmax limited. I will need to spend more $ on the mods; boards and tonneau. Any suggestions on running boards and tonneau outside of the Toyota brands?
